Uses of Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide
-- FOR A GALLON OF 3%: Remove 20 oz. water from a gallon of distilled water and
add 20 oz. 17.5% H2O2.
-- FOR 3/4 PINT OF 3%: Mix 2 oz. of 17.5% with 11 oz distilled water.
Chicken / Turkey / Meat Marinade and Tenderizer: Place protein in a glass, ceramic, stainless
steel or Corning Ware container and cover with 3% H2O2, placing a weight on top to keep it
submerged. AVOID THE USE OF ALUMINUM OR TEFLON COATED PANS. Cover loosely and
refrigerate overnight. The next day, rinse and cook. Notice how moist, flavorful and tender it has
become!
Fish Marinade: Same as above, but ONLY soak for 10 MINUTES MAXIMUM. Fish is more
absorbent.
Vegetable and Fruit Soak: Use in place of Clorox to remove pesticide, bacteria, mold, fungus and
dirt. Add 1/4 cup 3% H2O2 to enough cold water to cover. Soak delicate vegetables 20 minutes
(lettuce, parsley, etc.) Soak thick-skinned vegetables and fruit for 30 minutes. Drain and dry. Produce
stays fresh longer, too! Or if time is a problem, you can spray produce with 3% H2O2 and let stand for
a couple of minutes, rinse and dry.
Brown Rice / Grain Wash: Before cooking, remove dust, dirt, bacteria and toxic impurities like
aflatoxins by putting 2 oz. of 17.5% H2O2 in a bowl of ½ gallon water with rice, or beans, or grains
and let soak for 10 minutes. Crud will float to the top. Rinse well.
Sprouting Seeds: Add 2 oz. 3% H2O2 to 1 pt. of water and soak the seeds overnight. Add 2 oz. of
3% H2O2 per pint of tap water each time you rinse the seeds.
Leftover Tossed Salad: Put 1 Tbsp. 3% H2O2 in ½ cup water. Spray the top of the salad with the
solution before covering and refrigeration.
To Freshen the Kitchen: Keep a spray bottle of 3% H2O2 in the kitchen. Use it to wipe off sink
tops and appliances. It disinfects and gives the kitchen a fresh smell. Works great inside the
refrigerator, as well as on wooden cutting surfaces. Use to clean and disinfect sponges.
In the Dishwasher: Add 2 oz. of 3% H2O2 to your regular washing formula. Glasses will sparkle!
HOUSEHOLD USES
Laundry / Hand Washables: Add 8 oz. of 3% H2O2 to your wash in place of toxic bleaches.
Humidifiers / Vaporizers / Steamers: Use 1 pint 3% H2O2 -- or -- 2 oz. 17.5% to 1 gallon of water.
(Kills mold, keeps them clean.)
Mattress Mold and Mildew: Spray a 3% H2O2 solution on the entire surface and let dry. (It helps to
put mattress in the sun to dry.)
Pets: For small animals (dogs and cats) use 1 oz. 3% H2O2 to 1 qt. of water.
IN THE GARDEN
Sprouting Seeds: Add 2 oz. 3% H2O2 to 1 pt. of water and soak the seeds overnight. Add 2 oz. of
3% per pint each time you rinse the seeds. Some have reported 3/4" sprouts in 24 hours!
Watering Plants: Put 1 oz. 3% H2O2 in 1 quart of water. Water or mist plants with this solution.
Insecticide Non-Toxic Spray: Put 8 oz. white sugar, and 4-8 oz. 3% H2O2 in 1 gallon water. Use
this as an insecticide spray. For best results, it must be reapplied after rain.
IN THE BATHROOM
Minor cuts and scrapes: Use 3% H2O2 to clean and disinfect a minor wound.
Detoxifying / Invigorating Bath: Add 12-16 oz. 17.5% H2O2 to tub for a rejuvenating bath. Soak
at least ½ hour. (It is best that you bathe early. The invigorating effect of oxygen absorbed through the
skin may keep you awake if bathing late).
Hot Tubs and Swim / Spas: Used with compatible non-toxic water treatments in the proper ratios,
it is the IDEAL chlorine substitute.
After Shower Spray: Keep a spray bottle of 3% H2O2 in the shower. Spray your body after
washing to replace the acid mantle on your skin that soap removes.
Mouthwash: Use from 1%-3% H2O2 in strength for the safest, most effective mouthwash
possible. Add a dash of liquid chlorophyll for flavoring.
Water-Piks: Squirt up to1-2 tsp. 17.5% H2O2 into water reservoir with warm water. Reduce
pressure until your gums become accustomed to it.
Gum Oxygenator: Mix a paste of baking soda, 3% H2O2 and a little salt. Use once daily. Push
along gumline and between teeth to kill harmful bacteria. Leave for one minute. Then rinse.
Toothpaste: Use baking soda and enough 3% H2O2 to make a paste, or just dip your brush in 3%.
Warnings
Avoid spillage. UNDILUTED 17.5% H2O2 will sting and turn dead skin white upon contact (such as
on the fingertips and calluses). If you spill 17.5% on your skin, immediately rinse under cold tap water.
Aloe will soothe and remove the stinging sensation after the skin has been rinsed. Avoid contact with
eyes.
FOOD GRADE 17.5% H2O2 is safe for food uses if handled with care while being diluted, and is very
economical. Concentrations lower than 35% will freeze. Freezer storage is NOT RECOMMENDED
for 3%, 6%, 17.5% or any concentration below 35%. It loses only 1% potency per year at room
temperature, but the plastic bottle will expand. Undiluted 17.5% must be kept refrigerated.
