V- RATIONALE
“WE sense that ‘normal’ isn’t coming back, that we are being born into a new normal: a new
kind of society, a new relationship to the earth, a new experience of being human.” — Charles
Eisenstein
Before this coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) hits our senses, we always heard about
“globalization and contextualization responding to the 21st Century Learning”. But now brought by
this pandemic, we always mention – the new normal.
So what is the meaning of learning in new normal? And for this moment, what has become
‘normal’ in the educational system? The self-learning modules: printed or digital, online classes,
alternative delivery modalities, radio-based, and television-based instructions are the new trends
and “musts” to continue learning during this pandemic time.
Most of our attention right now is focused on online learning as a means to deliver
instruction to the students since physical contact is restricted where we must keep our distance
from one another and staying at least 2 meters (or 6 feet) away from other people whenever
possible. This new normal has become ordinary in our society right now.
Pushing the use of online learning in the new normal in education helps to implement
efficient and effective media and platforms where students are tasked to involve themselves in the
technological advancement it brings. Information is not limited anymore, the most recent
information is accessible and everything can be available.
But how about those families with the lack of equitable internet access? Every child has the
right to high-quality education. That’s is why the Department of Education (DepEd) has adopted
several learning modalities just to keep track of those learners who have no internet access but still
be given the quality education they deserve by means of modular. So, in this new normal, DepEd
upholds the right to provide high-quality education with multiple pathways to learning that can
accommodate every student as it adheres to its sworn duty that no learners should be left behind in
times of pandemic.
With this, FUNDADOR TOLENTINO initiated free tutorial services for his neighbor located at
Barangay Carriedo, Tayug, Pangasinan. Fifteen (15) pupil-beneficiaries from Grade 1 to Grade 6 who
need intervention and supervision will be selected in order to help them develop and enhance their
numeracy skills, reading skills and literacy skills from School Year 2021-2022 to 2021-2022.

VI-OBJECTIVES
To give opportunity to the selected pupils/ beneficiaries to enhance and develop their
language, numeracy, language and reading skills specially those pupils without guardians/parents to
teach and guide during this new normal education.

VII-Project Description/Design
This project was set to address the learners who need intervention and supplementary
learning in the middle of the pandemic. It has been a rough road for the majority to be in the current
situation that we are facing. Suddenly, the economic status of the country was put to risk due to
temporary and permanent closing of some establishments (including the schools) and eventually
many workers lost their jobs leaving them penniless or financially disturbed.
With this, the proponent, being part of the educational institution that sets goals of helping
the stakeholders takes the primary presets to help the community. With the series of visionary
planning proposed to the head of the school, the proponent came up with strategic plans on how
the conduct will be facilitated as indicated in the framework- the action plan and schedule of
activities.
This project will be initiated with the help of the Barangay Captain, the Rural Health Unit
Support Group, Barangay Health Worker (BHW) in the area and the parents of the pupil
beneficiaries. With careful planning, strategic interventions were raised to deliver a quality and
smooth presentation of campaign towards awareness of the people in the community about the
importance of education considering the set of restrictions released in compliance with the health
standards as prescribed by the COVID-19 Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).
This project is primarily designed to help the learners who need interventions especially in
language, numeracy and reading. This project initiates the “bayanihan” concept in which the
proponent reconstructed the idea of sharing through people who are willing to be channels of
blessings by sharing the time and knowledge. With this, the community shares a handful support
that will surely help the community. It does not only promote proper education but also reflects
compassion and love as well.

VII- Project Beneficiaries and their Benefits

The beneficiaries of the project are 15 selected pupils who need intervention from Grade 1 to Grade
6 of Carriedo Elementary School.
