KYRGYZSTAN
Kyrgyzstan is a landlocked country with
mountainous terrain. It borders Kazakhstan in the
north, Uzbekistan in the west and southwest,
Tajikistan in the southwest, and China in the east.
The capital and largest city is Bishkek.
Kyrgyzstan is primarily a mountainous country.
At its eastern end, there is Pobeda Peak at 7,439
meters, the highest point in Kyrgyzstan. The
second high mountain Khan Tengri (6995
meters) is located on the border with Kazakhstan.
To the southwest are two large depressions, the
Ferghana Valley and another valley near Mount
Khan Tengri. The last valley is bounded by the
west-stretching arms of the Kungei-Alatau and
Terskey-Alatau ridges and contains one of the
deepest lakes in the world, Lake Issyk-Kul,
whose clear deep waters are fed by snow-capped
peaks.
CLIMATE
The climate in the city is continental, which
means hot summers and cold winters. The
atmosphere is generally dry with precipitation
occurring mainly in the spring. Two rivers flow
through the city - Alamedin and Ala-Archa,
which are tributaries of the Chui River. Also, the
Big Chuisky Canal flows through the city. The
city is considered the greenest in Central Asia.

EPIC OF MANAS
The Epic of Manas is a traditional epic poem
dating to the 18th century but claimed by Kyrgyz
tradition to be much older. The plot of Manas
revolves around a series of events that coincide
with the history of the region in the 9th century,
primarily the interaction of the Kyrgyz people
with Turkic and Chinese people.
The epic tells the story of Manas, his
descendants, and their exploits against various
foes. The Epic of Manas is divided into three
books.
The first part covers the warrior Manas
The second episode describes the deeds of
his son Semetei
The third part tells about his grandson
Seitek.

Nervous System
The Nervous system consists of two
types:
1. Central Nervous System
2. Peripheral Nervous System
Central Nervous System:
The CNS is composed of two parts:
1. Brain
2. Spinal Cord
Peripheral Nervous System:
The PNS is composed of two types:
1. Somatic Nervous System
2. Autonomic Nervous System
Autonomic Nervous System:
Autnomic NS is furhter comprised of
two types:
1. Parasympathetic Nervous System
2. Sympathetic Nervous System
44
Nervous System
Somatic Nervous System:
The nerves for this type of PNS arrise from
the brain and those nerves are single
fibered. The nerves arrising from the brain
directly go towareds the somatic cells.
Autonomic Nervous System:
In the case of this types of PNS, the nerves
arrising from brain or spinal cord are double

Point To Ponder
What is Proprioception???
Sense of how body parts are oriented in the
space:
All the sensations are coming from
locomotor system
Proprioception is transmitted to the
cerebellum via spinocerebellar tracts
This information is used
by the cerebellum
to regulate muscle tone, posture,
locomotion and equilibrium.
So basically, proprioception is controlled by
the cerebellum.
For this purpose, sensory receptors are
present in our subcutaneous tissues. They
are capable of detecting motion and
position of the body through a stimulus
produced within the body.

Gyrus & Sulcus of the
Brain
Gyri (singular: gyrus) are the folds or
bumps in the brain . Folding of the cerebral
cortex creates gyri and sulci which
separate brain regions.

Mind Mapping
Mind mapping is an efficient tool of
study. With this method, it becomes
much easier to memorize the topics no
matter how much lengthy or difficult
they are.
Making a mind map of a topic is like
making a sketch of the whole topic
through which we can cover most of it.
We can use different colors to make
an attractive mind map.
Whenever we will see that mind map,
the whole topic will be revised at once
in our mind.
During the exam preparations, these
types of methods of learning will help
us a lot.
51
Mind Mapping
In the developed countries, there are paid
courses in which they teach this technique
of Mind Mapping.
This technique is not only used only by the
students but also by the businessmen, high
ranking officers and the managers who
have to deal with so much work.
So here is an example through which we
can analyze how to make a mind map.
