Combustion of Planet
 The Planet in their transit come closer to Sun, as a result they loose their
Brightness and are known as Combust Condition.
 The light of the Planets gets overwhelmed by the Sun and the Planet
loses its individuality, it loses the Power.
 There is an interesting astronomical fact here. Exact combustion is when
the Planet and the Sun share the exact degree.
 Here the Inner Planets, Venus and Mercury can be seen on the disc of the
Sun as black dots or they can disappear behind the Sun’s disc.
 The Outer Planets Mars, Jupiter and Saturn can only disappear
behind the Sun’s disc.

 In Combust tion Stage, the Planet behaves in an Unexpected
Manner.
 Combustion is thus akin to Extreme Loss of Power similar to
Debilitation.
 The planets in its combustion stage is said to lose its Auspicious
Qualities.
 Rahu and Ketu being Mathematical Points (no physical existence)
will not Combust, rather Overpower the Sun.

Basic Rules for Combustion Condition
When Sun and Planets are not in same sign but are in the
Range of Combustion, even then Planet will be taken as
combust.
When the Planet is beyond Range of Combustion but in the
same sign with Sun is not taken as Combust.
When a planet is Moving away from Sun then effect of
Combustion is less.
When a Planet is Moving towards Sun then effect of
Combustion is more.

Some Special Rule for Combustion Condition
Combination of Mercury with Sun is called Budha Aditya Yoga
If a Planet causing Sanyas Yoga is Combust then it will not give
Sanyas. He only becomes an admirer of Sanyas.
Retrograde Planets moving away from Sun is not considered
Combust. This applies to Mercury and Venus.
If Dispositor of Sun is combust then Sun is harmed.

Combust Planet-Example Chart Analysis
 Moon is combust in birth Chart.
 When Moon is combust, the person is skilful and henpecked
(A henpecked man is controlled by and a little frightened of a
woman, especially his wife). It is Raj yoga giver.
 Problem is faced by female relatives of the person including
mother.
 Moon is combust in Dwadamsha also . Mother had to bear the pain
of separation of her husband. Queen Victoria’s Father died within
six month of her birth. Her Father died in Jan 1820.
 Moon is not combust in Dashmasha. The effect of combustion was
not felt in professional life. The Moon is lord of third house in
Dashmansha.

In transit also planets will get combust, so it is advisable
to pay attention to the activities of the planet under
combustion. Different planets get combust at varying
distances from the Sun. But especially when the distance
between it and the Sun reduces to less than 3deg
20minutes arc length (i.e. one Nakshatra Pada distance)
be very careful.
So in periods where the Planets are combust you will see
the following trends around you. Almost everyone will
display the change caused by Combust Planets in transit.

Mercury Combust : Loss of cooperation, failure of
teamwork, self-ego ruining logical plans, faulty
conclusions from data because of misplaced confidence,
financial markets going down because of over-inflated

Venus Combust:Failure in personal relationships as both
partners become more selfish, legal issues crop up
because business partners do not want to share profits
equitably, spiritual progress goes slower as individual-
ego pops up.

Mars Combust : Personal vitality comes in focus, physical
aggression, competitions, rash driving, exaggerated over-
confidence, strong belief in one’s competitive abilities. Everyone
will fight for what he wants.

way or the other.
However remember that aggression should be directed away

follow his own personal belief.
Saturn Combust: This is potentially highly problematic
placement. Sun is Saturn’s father and they do not get along at
all. Laziness, procrastination, misplaced belief in one’s abilities,
irregular working style, luck, money and social reputation are all
affected adversely. Everyone will think that their work alone is
perfect.
