AFAA TRAINING &

CERTIFICATION
PRIMARY GROUP EXERCISE CERTIFICATION

Friday, September 19, 2014 • 9am - 6pm • $115

Course Content
A review of AFAA’s Basic Exercise Standards and Guidelines, exercise
science and exam criteria, followed by written and practical exams.
Prerequisites: Early registration, self-study before program, and group
exercise teaching experience. Current CPR required before certificate
is issued. This one-day course offers 5 CEUs for AFAA certified
professionals. This certification is valid for a period of two years.

PERSONAL FITNESS TRAINER CERTIFICATION

Friday - Sunday, September 19-21, 2014 • 8am - 6pm • $350

Course Content
A three-day certification
workshop including lectures,
practical demonstration and
written and practical exams. The
curriculum includes anatomy and
kinesiology, fitness assessment
testing procedures, nutrition
fundamentals and weight
management, special populations
and medical considerations,
wellness programming and
screening guidelines, and exercise
programming in the weight room.
Current CPR required before
certificate is issued. 15 CEUs for
AFAA certified professionals. This
certification is valid for a period
of two years. Prerequisites:
Early registration and pre-study
is required. Weight room or weight training experience is strongly
recommended. Course Includes: Study guide, written and practical
exams, one-year AFAA membership, and a subscription to American
Fitness magazine (does not include postage to addresses outside the
U.S.). Study Materials: Personal Fitness Training: Theory and Practice
textbook and study guide.

For 15 CEUs credit only (not for certification), $195.

PRACTICAL YOGA INSTRUCTOR TRAINING

Course Content
This one-day instructor training course will teach participants how to
confidently lead a safe and challenging multi-level yoga class in a variety
of settings. The course curriculum combines AFAA’s traditional methods
of teaching group exercise and its new, unique Sunrise Format approach
to Yoga. Learn and practice the various asanas and gain understanding
of the other key elements of success: tone, setting, meditation, breath
and all the teaching skills necessary to be a successful fitness-based Yoga
instructor. Sticky mat recommended.

Certificate of Completion, 5
AFAA CEUs for AFAA Certified
professionals, one-year AFAA
