LESSON 1 (WEEK 3)

1. Mangyan is the collective term for the different ethno-linguistic groups inhabiting the
highlands of Mindoro and its foothills.
2. The Hanunuo Mangyans subgroups and is arguably the most well-known.
3. The Tagbanua is one of the earliest ethnic groups in the island of Palawan.

processes used by the Pintados differ, but the reason is the same to prove one’s courage. The

evident especially the ones in the torso. The women mostly tattoo the back of their hands with
intricate and detailed designs such as flowers.
6. Hablon, takes from the Hiligaynon word “Habol,” meaning “to weave,” refers to both the
process of making the fabric and the end product. It is traditionally made of locally-made
fibers such as pina, abaca, and cotton.

2. Preserved houses are called heritage houses. In Silay City, Bacolod, there is large
concentration of heritage houses due to the boom of the sugareance industry in the 1800s.
These houses are more commonly called ancestral houses due to most ancestral houses in the
Phillipines being of bahay na bato architecture.
3. The Manunggul jar discovered in Palawan is one of most important archocological finds in
the Phillipines. This artefact is considered a national treasure not only because of its high level
of handwork, but more importantly.
4. The Manunggul jar also depicted the Filipino valuesnof respect for one’s soul, compassion,
nationalism, and faith Cosequently. The jar served as a living reminders of the country’s such
history and culture since it existence during the late Neolitic Period.

LESSON 2 (WEEK 6)

I ACCOMPLISH A

1. ARCH – is achieved by pushing your hips forward and keeping your chest open. Lie on
your stomach with your arms by your ears. Keep your legs straight as you lift your heels.
Also, remember to keep yours arms straight while you lift them.
2. BRIDGE – requires you to lie on your back. Position your hands on the floor by yours ears
and bend your legs. Push your hips toward the ceiling and arc back. To form an ideal bridge,
make sure you have straight legs and shoulders pushed out over the hands.
3. HANDSTAND – is performed by extending yours body toward the ceiling in an upside-
down position. Stand up straight with your feet comfortably apart; Kick with your
dominant leg, raise your arms, and then carefully tips your body forward, Keep your arms
and legs straight as you balance your weight on your hands.
4. HOLLOW – is the opposite of the arch shape. To execute this, lie on your back and place
your arms by yours ears. Lift your head and legs slightly off the ground, but maintain lower
back contract. Squeeze your legs together while they are slightly in front of you and round
your chest inward.
5. LUNGE – Begins by standing with your feet together. Take a big step forward and bend
your front leg. Slightly turn out both of your feet. Extend your arms upward to create a
straight line from your rear foot to your hands.
6. PIKE – Entails bending only at your hips. Sit on the ground with your legs straight out in
front of you. Depending on the degree, some gymnastics skills will require you to be
essentially folded in haft at yours hips.
7. SPLIT – is one of the key flexibility skills. To perform a side split, maintain one leg forward
and the other leg backward. Keep your hips as square as possible. This means that they are
aligned. Note that stretching daily is preferable to stretching for a long time in one sitting.
8. STRADDLE – involves separating your legs with neither leg being forward no backward
of the other. Start with your body facing forward while in a sitting position, then spread
your legs apart to form a 180-degree split or more.
9. STRAIGHT STAND – is a ubiquitous position in gymnastics. This is the most essential
shape to master. Stand with your bottom clenched, hips tucked below, and core firm.
Remember to raise your arms straight and by your ears.
10. TUCK – is accomplished by bending at the hips and knees. Sit on the ground with your
legs in front of you. Bend your knees out to the side enables you to compress the fuck
further, resulting in a quicker rotation during performance.
