    TO OUR COLLEAGUES IN THE WATER INDUSTRY:

    Do you miss the PAWD Convention that we used to have before the pandemic
    halted our normal life?

    With almost the entire country into COVID-19 Alert Level 1, we are happy and
    excited to announce that we are bringing back the face-to-face PAWD national
    convention.

    We cordially invite you to the 43rd PAWD National Convention to be held on June
    15 – 17, 2022 at Waterfront Cebu City Hotel, Lahug, Cebu City. The Convention
    has the theme “Water Governance Towards Building a Better Normal” to mirror
    the situation in the water supply sector today.

    Climate change, increasing customer demands, declining per capita water


    availability, deteriorating water quality, financial stress and water security are among
    the challenges currently faced by water districts. The COVID-19 pandemic
    aggravated the situation. To ensure the fulfillment of our mandate and to enable us
    to adapt to the needs of the times for a better normal, the 43 rd PAWD Convention
    hopes to reorient water districts on water governance, i.e. how to utilize political,
    social, economic and administrative systems that are in place to influence better
    water use and management. It will highlight approaches addressing problems faced
    by WDs, experiences and best practices and technological solutions during the time
    of the pandemic and how we intend to use the lessons and experiences learned to
    move forward.

    With the Products / Services Exhibition and various learning sessions during the
    3-day event, we hope that the Convention will be able to help improve WDs’
    management and operation as we ease into a new and better normal.

    We expect to gather over a thousand delegates, consisting of water districts’


    members of the Board of Directors, general managers, employees, invited guests
    from the government and private sectors, and exhibitors involved in water and
    sanitation for this 43rd PAWD Annual Convention.
