1. BYANG 10 In scale of 1-10, math is equal to the value of 10. Math
will never be valueless for it is always an important
subject or topic to be discussed. Math is everywhere and
therefore it is a necessity to be known and value. None of
us doesn’t know math for it is part of the existence of an
individual. There is no such person who doesn’t meet
math in his whole life because the moment a person came
into life, he/she were meant to know math. Therefore,
math will always be in the top of the most valued subject
and it is always irrevocable.
2.ATE JOAN 8 Mathematics have many importance in our daily lives. As
we all know that mathematics is the study of
measurements, numbers, and space, which is one of the
first sciences that human work to develop because of its
great importance and benefits. In our daily lives, or in
every matters we do such us cooking, driving, shopping,
tracking or another field of jobs like accounting,
financing, banking, engineering and etc., mathematics has
a large equity that connect on the trade of our daily living.
Even in medicine courses it may applied several times.
And because numbers seems everywhere you go, I rated it
as 8 out of 10.
3. MYKA 7 I rate Mathematics as 7/10. I am not good as what others
think in Mathematics. It doesn't mean that I hate Math,
my knowledge isn't enough to say that I am a good one.
Mathematics may be hard, but I still conquer every
situation of it. As long as I try hard to understand the

given problems, then that's it. It's a big help in our daily
living. So, I rate it as 7.
4. DANDOY 5 I gave it 5 because math has the potential to destroy our
mind. Yes! It is a useful subject that we can used in our
daily lives, but for those people who don’t really have a
good ability in terms of numbers, they would surely have
a hard time handling it. If you are not expert in
mathematics especially in a big topic like calculus, there’s
a possibility that you will not able to cope and answer
those problems that involves in it. For me, math is fun but
it’s challenging that’s why I would only gave it a half
rating.
5.BENG 10 10! Math is my favorite subject but it's not the reason why
I rate it as 10. I see mathematics as a subject that really
help us humans especially in our day to day living. Yes!
Mathematics might be a difficult subject as it involves
lots of problems, solutions, formulas, and any other
methods but there is one thing that I really love in it! And
it is all about the fact that this subject help me realize that
every problem has a solution even the very difficult one.
For me, Mathematics don’t only emphasize numbers but
it also serve as a motivation for us to live our life with
strong determination and perseverance because all the
problems we experience has meant to have a solution..

pattern” since its outer skin is spiky and it is like durian but jackfruit
is typically larger and with smaller spikes. This big hulking
fruit also has rough and thick skin more like an animal’s
than something from the plant kingdom. It’s from the fig
and mulberry family, and colours range from yellow-green
to bright green and pale brown.
FITTONIA “nerve-like
PLANT patterned Nerve Plant (Fittonia Plant): Caring for Vein Plants. Fittonia
leaves” plants are beautiful tropical houseplants that have patterned
leaves with pink, red, light green or white veins. These

colorful patterns contrast well on the dark green leaves. Due


to the intricate veined patterning, fittonias are also called
nerve plants, vein plants, mosaic plants, and painted net
plants.
WATERMELON “stripe pattern Watermelon has stripe pattern because the rind of the fruit is
with web-like mid- to dark green and usually mottled. It also have a web
lines” like lines because as we can observe in it through the
stripes, there is a line that is curvy that is like a web. The
coloring of watermelon helps indicate the ripeness of the
fruit. You should pick a melon that has a strong, consistent
stripe pattern. The green stripes should be a deep, dark
green, while the pale stripes should be a creamy, light
yellow.
CHEETAH “Spotted When we think of spotted animals, cheetahs are probably
pattern” one of the first to come to mind. This defining feature is in
the name cheetah, thought to be derived from the Hindu
word chita for “spotted one”. Cheetahs have about 2000
spots and each has a unique pattern that can be used in
wildlife management to identify individuals. The spotted
skin pattern of cheetah is like leopard, but leopard have
rosette which are rose-like marking while cheetah have
dots on a tan coloured base or have a solid round oval spot
shape. The spot of a cheetah is a clear, single and black
spot.
ZEBRA “Black and The Zebra Pattern is a highlight warning indicator that is
white stripe common in video cameras. Zebra Pattern is a camera
alternating feature that overlays some stripes into the image that

by showing a striped pattern over areas that are close to
overexposure. The stripes on zebras have been found to
repel flies.
TIGER “Striped The tiger has said to have a striped pattern beneath the

from dark brown or grey to black, and the underside of the
tiger white. I really love those colors of the tiger especially
seeing it on TV, the combination of the colors were really
match and it’s good.

SYNTHESIS
Write three important concepts or learning you have from this lesson. Rank them accordingly
1. My knowledge/understanding about math had been expanded throughout learning things
in this module. I learned that mathematics is the study of pattern, structure and relationship. It is
fundamental to the physical and biological sciences, engineering and information technology, to
economics and increasingly to the social sciences. It is a useful way to think about nature and our
world. It is also a tool to quantify, organize and control our world, predict phenomena and make
life easier for us. Many patterns and occurrences exist in nature, in our world and in our life, and
definitely, mathematics is the one that helps make sense of these pattern and occurrence. As
mathematics has progressed, more and more relationships have been found between parts of it
that have been developed separately. Part of the sense of beauty that many people have perceived
in mathematics lies not in finding the greatest elaborateness or complexity but on the contrary, in
finding the greatest economy and simplicity of representation and proof. Well it is true that math
is all around us because as we discover more and more about our environment and our
surroundings we see that nature can be described mathematically.

2. Pattern in nature are visible regularities of form found in the natural world and can also
be seen in the universe. Nature patterns which are not just to be admired, they are vital clues to
the rules that govern natural processes. Patterns can be observed especially in the environment
that we lived in, and it also present in the outer space. In terms of concentric circles in nature,
solar system is an example of it. The planets orbit the sun on paths that are concentric. It is said
that moving away from planet earth, we can also see many of these same mathematical features
in outer space. We also see concentric circles in the rings of Saturn. The solar eclipse between
earth sun and moon also exhibit nature’s sense of symmetry and patterns. On the other hand in
Fibonacci sequence, the numbers in the sequence are often seen in nature. A few examples
include the number of spirals in a pine cone, pineapple or seeds in a sunflower, or the number of
petals on a flower. The numbers in this sequence also form a unique shape known as a Fibonacci
spiral, which we see in nature in the form of shells and the shape of hurricanes, and the golden
ratio was said to be used in it. Nevertheless, the golden ratio is sometimes called the "divine
proportion," because of its frequency in the natural world. There is a special relationship between
the Golden Ratio and Fibonacci Numbers because when we take any two successive (one after
the other) Fibonacci Numbers, their ratio is very close to the Golden Ratio.

3. Most of the plants like flowers has a rotation symmetry. A figure has rotational
symmetry if it can be rotated by an angle between 0° and 360° so that the image coincides with
the preimage. The order of symmetry is the number of times the figure coincides with itself as
it’s rotates through 360°. In finding the angle of rotation of an object, we will just divide 360° to

the n where n represent as the fold rotational symmetry. The equivalent of 0.61803... rotations is
222.4922... degrees, or about 222.5° and in the other direction it is about 137.5°, called the
"Golden Angle".
In addition I also learned about world population wherein to find it, we will used the
formula for exponential growth is A= Pe rt, where A is the size of the population after it grows, e
is Euler’s constant with an approximate value of 2.718. Plugging in values to this formula would
result in the population size after time t with a growth rate of r.

For me, mathematics is one of the subjects that greatly helps us on our daily basis. We
can apply this in a practical situation such as if we buy in a store, we will use math to
calculate how much we will pay for what we buy, and how much will be exchanged. Also
math can also be used in cooking, driving, shopping, tracking or another field of jobs, and
those proves that mathematics has a large equity that connect on the trade of our daily
living. And also on what was being discussed throughout the lesson 1, math is also used
to identify patterns, structure, and relationship, order of rotation, sequence, angles and
world population. In addition, mathematics makes our life orderly and prevents chaos.
Certain qualities that are nurtured by mathematics are power of reasoning, creativity,
abstract or spatial thinking, critical thinking, problem-solving ability and even effective
communication skills. Although mathematics involves lot of problems to be solve,
formulas, and various method but I can say that it’s fun because the more we learn about
it, the more we will understand fully things that exist in the world. Hence, mathematics is
a useful ways to think about nature and our world. Thus, I can really say that math plays a
great role in the lives of every human being because it contributed a lot of help on us.
2. Where do you apply the principles of mathematics?
For all the principles of mathematics we can surely apply those in the practical world and
to all facets of life. Number, quantity, order, infinity and continuity, space, matter and
motion are some of composition of mathematics that appeal all through every lives. And
in connection on what was being discussed in the module, mathematics is applies in
many patterns and occurrences exist in nature, in our world and in life. Thus, it helps
make sense of these patterns and occurrences. Mathematics is the backbone of every

livelihood in this universe that’s why it plays a major role in one's life. Hence, in every
moment of our lives, we apply mathematics.
3. Do you need mathematics every day? Why?

Yes because math have roles to play in our world. Mathematics organize patterns
and regularities in our society. It also predict the behaviour of nature and phenomena.
Next, it helps control nature and occurrences in the world for our own ends. In addition, it
has numerous application in the world making it indispensable. It gives us a way to
understand patterns, to quantify relationships, and to predict the future. Math helps us
understand the world — and we use the world to understand math.

Mathematics is useful for solving problems that occur in the real world, so many
people besides mathematicians study and use mathematics. Today, some mathematics is
needed in many jobs. People working in business, science, engineering, and construction
need some knowledge of mathematics. Math involves counting, calculation,
measurement, and the shapes and motions of physical objects, thus it plays a great role in
our lives. Furthermore, math can help us do many things that are important in our
everyday lives such as managing money, balancing the checkbook, shopping for the best
price, preparing food, figuring out distance, time and cost for travel, understanding loans
for cars, trucks, homes, schooling or other purposes, understanding sports (being a player
and team statistics), baking, home decorating, sewing, gardening, landscaping and many
to mention. INDEED! Math is a very useful thing that’s why we need it everyday.

1. Pattern can be observed even in star which move in circles across the sky each
day.
2. The weather season cycle each year also form a pattern. All snowflakes
contains six fold symmetry which no two are exactly the same.
3. Pattern can be seen in fish pattern like spotted trunkfish, spotted puffer, blue
spotted stingray, spotted moral eel, coral grouper, red lion fish, yellow boxfish and
angelfish. These animals and fish stripes and spot attest to mathematical
regularities in biological growth and form.
4. Also land animals have pattern. Zebra, tiger, cats and snake are covered in
pattern of stripe; leopard and hyenas are covered in pattern of spots; and giraffes
are covered in pattern of blotches.
5. There are also natural patterns like the intricate waves across the ocean, sand
dunes on desserts, formation of typhoon, water drop with ripple in others. This
serve as clues to the rules that govern the flow of water sand and air that actually

The ratio of the sequence was in the state of change because there were different
ratio in each pair of the numbers in the sequence. As the number becomes bigger,
the change in every ratio is not constant, because sometimes the ratio becomes
bigger compare to the previous ratio, then also sometimes the ratio would became
smaller compare to previous one. The changing of it has definitely don’t have an
exact different. But as the number becomes bigger their ratio gets closer to the
golden ratio which is 1.61803398875.
