    Greetings everyone!

    Good day Ma’am DJ, I am Una Yvonne Domantay from BSN II-02 Group 8 and today I
    am going to demonstrate how bathing a newborne is being done.

    Before anything else, let us first make sure that we have our equipments ready, So I have in here the materials
    already prepared. Such as the bath tub or the basin, the towel, Cotton balls, wash cloth, mild soap, comb, diaper,
    new set of clothes, the blanket for swaddling and of course our clean gloves.

    Now that we have gathered all the equipments we’ll be needing later on, let us now do the hand hygiene to
    prevent the spread of microorganisms and avoid contamination.

    And now that we’re all ready let us meet the client. Good morning ma’am. I am Yvonne Domantay po your
    student nurse Manila doctors College of Nursing and You can call me Yvonne. To verify lang po, can iask for
    your full name po. Okay thank you po how about yor baby’s full name po? Okay po, b=ano po ang birthday ni
    baby?

    Okay Salamat po

    Kamusta naman po kayo ma’am? Okay that’s good to hear po. So ma’am I’m going to give bath to your baby
    po is it okay for you po? Okay thank you po, don’t worry because this will not take long naman po and it’s for
    the benefit of the baby. This procedure will prevent infection to your baby, stimulate circulation, keep your
    baby’s skin clean, induce sleep, minimize changes in her body temp, provides tactile stimulation and gives me a
    chance na rin po to observe your baby for any problems po.

    Okay po ma’am? Naiintindihan naman po? Okay po questions po s o far? Okay wala naman po. let me just
    close the curtains, windows and doors po. And let me just prepare the water and the materials po bago ako
    magstart, okay po? Okay thank you po

    Okay thank you po.

    1. Gather all equipment/ materials needed


    2. Perform hand hygiene and put on gloves and other PPE, if indicated.
    3. Introduce yourself to the family and explain the procedure to be done,
    4.. Verify the newborn using at least two identifiers (i.e. name and birth date or name and identification number
    5. Close windows and doors.
    6. Prepare lukewarm water and check the water temperature at 37-38°C before bathing the newborn. If you don’t have a
    thermometer, use your wrist or elbow to test the temperature – it should be comfortably warm, not hot.
    7. Place a towel, laid out in diamond fashion,on the tabletop next to the basin.
    8. Remove all clothing. Using a dry towel, wrap the newborn’s body.
    9. Wipe the eyes using cotton ball moistened with water starting from inner to outer canthus. Use a new cotton ball for
    each eye.
    10. Dip washcloth. Make a mitt and wash the face, ears and neck. Dry all areas thoroughly.

    ● Use baby soap. Lather soap into your palm and
    ● apply to the hair and scalp using gentle, circular motion. Use soft- bristle brush/ comb as necessary.
    ● Gently rinse the head.
    12. Place the newborn on a towel and dry the head using the corners of the towel.
    13. Uncover the newborn. Wet upper extremities, front, back, buttocks and legs using washcloth. Apply baby soap and
    lather.
    14. Pick up the newborn and slowly place in the baby bathtub to rinse off.
    15. While lifting the newborn, support the head and the neck using your forearm. Grasp the thigh with on the other hand.
    16. Dry the newborn’s body gently and thoroughly.
    17. Put on diapers (do not cover the umbilicus), dress the newborn, and swaddle.
    18. Discard used supplies and remove gloves and other PPE used.
    19. Perform medical Handwashing
    20. Document findings of the procedure.

    must be um comfortably warm so assuming that this is the baby liquid soap and now we are ready to bat a baby so assuming that the
    baby has steal a diaper leave it and rub the baby with the towel keeping his hands and feet drop with the towel so now begin with
    removing secretions from baby's eyes with the cotton balls and clean water dip the cotton ball into the water and squeeze the excess
    water it must be from inner cantus to outer cantus use singles cotton balls from each eye from inner cantus to outer counters this will
    prevent um cross contamination next will be the face of the baby use two cotton balls it must be from less contaminated to most
    contaminated make sure to wipe forehead nose cheeks and chin area from less contaminated to most contaminated the next thing is
    scary the baby with football hold with your palm on your hands supporting her neck and head and talking between your arms and the
    side of your body before pouring the baby's head on her on the basement make sure that you will cover her ears with your middle
    finger and the thumb then tilt her head over the basin and wash her hair remove the diapers now you will position your left hand under
    the baby's shoulder to support it and poke your finger under the baby's armpit to have a good grasp slide your finger under the um
    buttocks on the grip of the baby allow the baby to see it in the top but make sure you will um witness head wet the baby's neck chest
    hands abdomen and perennial area now at the back of the baby use right hand to take over the grip of the baby's armpit and allow her
    to lean forward over the right arm just be careful then wet it talk to the baby it's necessary [Music] [Music] clean the cord with the
    swab sticks from inner to outer handles then now dress the baby

    so after everything that i did is i already documented it and all

    name mom how are you feeling today that's good so mom by the way um i'm going to give a butt to your baby so is it okay mom don't
