NARRATIVE OF EXPERIENCE/TERMINAL REPORT

INTRODUCTION

As a partial requirement of NSTP-CWTS and LTS 1 the course in Social

Preparation Classes of First Semester, School Year 2021-2022, to conduct
Environmental Clean Up, Tree Planting, Learning Assistance, and Rapid Survey in
different areas in our respective barangays where the target clientele are the people
living in our respective barangay, especially the youth.

Being a Filipino citizen, we always wanted to help our beloved country and our
fellow citizens in many ways. We have become a student leader and follower since
elementary. Some of the members in our zone have participated and still participating
various activities that will benefit our mother earth and the people itself. These NSTP
activities have given us opportunities to continue helping. We felt pressured because
there are still a lot of homework’s to do but somehow, we were so excited because
despite this pandemic, we can still do such thing that will benefit some people.

In conducting the tree planting activity, it was hard for some of us knowing the
fact that not all of us are fond of planting since then. Some of us only experienced such
thing when we were in our elementary days. We used all our knowledge and experience
to accomplish the said task. There are still a lot of things that we do not know that is
why some of us asked for our family’s and relatives assistance, and some of our friends
guided us by giving us tips and answering our questions with regards to planting. There
are a lot of factors to consider before, during, and after planting. It was not easy, but it
was worth it. We also enjoyed doing these kinds of activities because I believed that all
of us learned a lot from these experiences. We also followed the health protocols such
as wearing facemask, practicing social distancing, and washing our hands before and
after the activity for us to be safe. Aside from it, we were so happy because it was an
achievement for us to accomplish the said tasks. Thinking that somehow, we did
something that will benefit not only our environment but to the people itself.

Next activity is the clean-up drive. One of our members made a group chat to
plan out things first such as the location, the needed cleaning materials, assigning of
tasks for those who will work the required documents, etc. I was happy seeing how
cooperative my groupmates to conduct this activity. But unfortunately, the said activity
was given or assigned to us by barangay for our convenience and because of the
pandemic that we are facing right now. Eventually, we have successfully conducted the
said activity in our respective barangays with the guidance of the barangay officials,
following the protocols such as wearing face mask, practicing social distancing, and
washing our hands before and after the said activity for us to be safe always.

After that, we conducted another activity which is the Learning Assistance or

Assisting of Modules among family members or relatives, or any students who are
having a difficulty in understanding their lessons. We, the members and officers of Zone
22 have assisted lots of students within our respective barangay including our own
brothers and sister who are currently studying and having a difficult time in

understanding their modules. It was easy for us to teach them because we are very
much familiar with their lessons because we have already dealt with it. We explain to
them those lessons that they cannot fully understand and after that, we let them answer
their assessments. After answering, we always check it to see whether we have made a
progress on them, or if we have been an effective teacher to them.

Lastly, we conducted a Rapid Survey in our respective barangay, to assess what

are the current problems or issues that our barangay is facing and what are the possible
solutions that we can suggest to the officials of our respective barangay to solve or
overcome those identified problems or issues within our community.

Overall, conducting those said activities brought us so much happiness and

wonderful experience despite the tiredness we felt. We are glad to help in simple ways
and we are inspired and motivated to do more. We enjoyed it and learned a lot of things
that for sure will be beneficial to us in the future.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We, the NSTP students under CWTS and LTS component of Samar State
University would like to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation to all the people
who help us in accomplishing the different activities. This project would not have been
possible without the guidance and the help of several individuals who in one way or
another contributed and extended their valuable assistance in the preparation and
completion of this narrative report.

First of all, we would like to express our heartwarming gratitude to our

Almighty God for being with us through ups and downs, and for letting all these things
possible to happen. It was a success because of His guidance, protection, strength,
courage, and enlightenment. God has been in this documentation, in giving such
strength and guidance that helped us accomplish this paper.

To our NSTP Director, Dr. Tomas O. Bañez who gave his valuable guidance for
his worthy advice and warm support for this activity. For his teachings in our NSTP
Online classes who with all he can, share with us everything that he knows throughout
the semester. We also give appreciation to the coordinators of the different components
as well as to the secretaries of the NSTP Office.

Finally, we wish to express our unending thanks to our parents/guardians who

made sacrifices, financial and moral support which made these activities successful. To
the different barangay chairman, thank you for accepting our request and for the
support that you had given during the conduct of the said activities, lending us your
