I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
a. define and identify what is a noun.
b. understand the use of nouns.
c. perform the given task that depicts their knowledge about a noun (song,
chants & poem); and
d. Create sentences containing nouns.

A. Preliminary Activities

b. Listen carefully.
c. Raise your hand if you have a question.

B. Motivation
Tell students that today, they will be learning about what a noun is and how
to find them in a sentence.
Task 1: FIND ME
Direction: Ask students to look around the room and look for objects. Call on a
few students to share their item.
What item you are holding right now?
Do you think that item is a noun?
Explain that all of those objects are nouns, which are the words we use for
people, animals, places, and things.
C. Activity
Play a song about nouns to the students to solidify their idea. Students will
list the nouns they heard from the given song.
Let the students raise a hand when they hear nouns mentioned to make the
activity more interactive.

Task 2: Performance
Each group will create a presentation that shows their understanding of the lesson.
Direction: The class will be divided into 3 groups. Each group will be given a
different task to perform, song, chant, and poem. Each group will be given 10
minutes to plan and prepare, and 2 minutes to perform.
Total: 30 points

IV. ASSESSMENT
Direction: Make a sentence that includes the given nouns below. Write it in a ½
sheet of paper.
For example: Word: Dog 1. I was bitten by a dog.
1. Elephant
2. Germany
3. Daniel
4. Dress
5. Ships
V. ASSIGNMENT
Cite the different types of noun and give one example each. Write it in a ½
sheet of paper.
The girls went to the mall with their mother. First, they stopped and looked
at the hamsters, puppies, kittens, mice and birds. Next, they wanted to check out
the store with toys. They looked at the dolls, jacks and jump ropes. While they
were walking around, they saw their teacher, their neighbor and the librarian at the
mall!
The girls left and went home. They were exhausted and hungry. When they
arrived home, their first stop was the kitchen. They grabbed a snack and ate it in
their bedroom. After resting for a while, the girls decided to play outside.
