THE HISTORY OF THE COLLEGE

IMCG, F-7/4, commended its functioning as a centre of excellence in 1973 with a modest
enrolment of 50 students. In 1975 class VIII was the senior most class, whereas in 1980 the
college got affiliation of SSC classes with the FBISE. This up gradation was on a constant rise
when HSSC classes were started M.A (English) classes began in 1994 but were closed due to
some policy changes. However, M.A (Urdu) classes commenced in 2005. Now B.S Urdu classes
commenced in 2019.

Second shift was introduced at HSSC level in 1994 and from class I to X in 1998.

The total strength of students enrolled is 3500. (The institution is successfully running
both shifts).

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

A high level goal is set to further the intellectual faculties of the learners, keeping their
potential and the existing educational methodology in view.

Latest computer skills have been introduced at the grass root level. Creativity and
motivation are promoted by imparting quality education. Grooming of the personality is given its
due share, to enable a girl child of today to become a mature working woman of tomorrow.

The prime aim of education is to inculcate patriotism, loyalty for their dear homeland
Pakistan and a desire to serve the country to the best of their abilities in future.

Overall Incharge of all activities of the college is the Principal. She is assisted by three
Associate Professor known as Vice Principals i.e. College Section and Senior School Section and
heads of various departments in the Senior and College Sections and by the Headmistress in the

MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION
English is the medium of instruction however the due weightage is given to Urdu.

CURRICULUM
Syllabi prescribed by the Federal Directorate/ FBISE and Quaid-e-Azam University are
being taught at the various levels. The following subjects are being taught:-

ADMISSIONS
HSSC

i) Advertisement
Soon after the declaration of SSC result by the Federal Board of Intermediate and
secondary Education, Islamabad, schedule of Admission to class XI is advertised
in the leading English and Urdu Daily Newspaper of Islamabad/Rawalpindi.
Registration forms are issued according to dates mentioned in the advertisement.
ii) Procedure
Procedure for submission of these Forms and instructions with regard to
registration are furnished along-with Registration Forms.
Note:-
Registration for each group (Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, General Science and
Humanities is done separately.

iii) Admission Policy


Admission is granted in accordance with the admission policy formulated by the
Federal Directorate of Education (Model Colleges wing), Islamabad.

a) Basic Eligibility
Daughters of following categories will be eligible for admission to all seats except
seats reserved for FATA/FANA (Domicile)
i) Federal Government employees residing in Islamabad/Rawalpindi.
ii) Residents of Islamabad Capital Territory.
iii) Diplomats stationed at Islamabad.
A candidate who has passed her last examination from an Institution not located
in Islamabad and Federal Area shall produce residence certificate from Estate
Office/CDA or any other valid legal documents in support of her claim.
Admission to class XI will be determined on merit as per allocation of seats given
here under.

b) Seats for Various Categories for Admission in Class XI


i) Bonafide Students of the Institutions 54%
ii) Open Merit 36%
iii) FATA/FANA 03%
iv) The Disable Quota 02%
v) Sports 05%
vi) Real Sons/Daughters of teachers/ 01% seat in every
employees of educational Institution in the order

c) Minimum Percentage Required for Admission in Class-XI

GENERAL INFORMATION
a) Students seeking admission against sport quota should have participated in sports
activities at the Board Level. They will submit along with the application form, an
authenticated certificate issued from the relevant Board certifying their claim. Merit
within Sports Quota will be determined after addition of points obtained, as per following
criteria to the total marks obtained by the applicants in the respective examination.

b) Twenty(20) Marks will be added to the merit of Hafiz-e-Quran for admission at all level,
provided the candidate produces a certificate of successful completion of the course from
a registered/recognized institution.
c) Admission procedure is finalized through Admission Committee and the list of successful
candidates is displayed on the college Notice Board on the dates specified in the
advertisement.

INTERNAL EVALUATION/EXAMINATIONS/PROMOTIONS
In order to ascertain the academic progress of the students they are examined regularly
during their stay in the college at all levels i.e. Higher Secondary and Graduate.
The tentative class-wise schedule of internal examination/periodicals tests is as under:-
i) Send-up Examination (Class XI-XII) are held during the month of January/February.
Pass percentage for all the Home test Examination is 40%

ELIGIBILITY FOR BOARD/UNIVERSITY EXAMINATION

Following conditions are required to be fulfilled to become eligible for the board
examinations. The student should

i) Be regular & bonafide student of the college.


ii) Bears good moral character.
iii) Have attended 75% of the total lectures delivered in each subject.

iv) Have shown satisfactory progress in class/home assignments.
v) Have paid all college dues and examinations fee prescribed by the Board.

ATTENDANCE
All students are expected to be very regular in their attendance. A student, who gets
herself absent from any class for 06 continuous days, automatically stands dropped from the
college roll unless the cause of absence is explained to be satisfaction of the Principal. Such
students can be re-admitted within a week after having been struck off from the roll. 75%
attendance in each subject is required so as to make a candidate eligible to appear in the Federal
Board, University and Home Examinations. The students with less percentage of attendance will
not be allowed to appear for the same.

LEAVE APPLICATIONS
i) All leave applications shall be addressed to the principal.
ii) Leave application should indicate:-
(a) The name, roll number, class and section of the applicant
(b) The date/dates for which leave is applied
(c) Reason for leave
iii) The application should be countersigned by the parent/guardian.
iv) If a student has been absent for 3 days she should submit leave for this period
immediately on attending the college. Prior permission/sanction is required for a
longer period of leave.

SICK LEAVE
A student who remains absent from the college for more than four days is required to
send leave application supported by a medical certificate from a medical officer. She will have to
produce a certificate of fitness when she re-joins the class.

SCHOOL/COLLEGE LEAVING CERTIFICATE


1. An application for school/college leaving certificate should bear the signature of the
parent/Guardian.
2. Until and unless her name is formally struck off the roll, a student should keep on
paying the college dues, as per rules.
3. If a student has not paid her dues nor obtained clearance from Library and Cafeteria,
she will not be granted a College Leaving Certificate. The science students will obtain
clearance from the incharge of each laboratory.

ACADMEIC COUNCIL
It is a supreme body on academics comprising principal, vice principals and headmistress
of the college. If regularly holds its sessions to review academic progress in the college to
formulate policies and strategies for its improvement and to supervise and monitor
implementation of the recommendations and decisions of the council.

DISCIPLINE COMMITTEE
The discipline committee comprising nine members from the teaching staff, i.e. two chief
proctors for each section of the college including Morning & Evening Shifts Junior and Senior
sections. The rules framed by the committee are binding on all the students. The focus of the
committee in on the following aspects.
• To ensure proper uniform of students.
• To maintain discipline in college premises and in college buses.
• To cultivate and refine ethical behaviour in students.

STUDENT’S COUNCIL
The aims and objectives of the Council are to maintain a healthy atmosphere among the
student community, to discuss mutual problems with a view to bringing them to the notice of the
administration and to help in maintaining discipline during college hours. It also takes the
responsibility of organizing various functions/co-curricular activities in the college. The council
is composed of (elected) student President, Vice President, Secretary, Joint Secretary and a
Member representative from all the classes.

DISCIPLINE
To ensure discipline and order in the College students are directed:

i) To abide by the rules and regulations at all time.


ii) To maintain academic atmosphere in the college.
iii) To exercise self control and abide by the rules in class-rooms, library, the college hall,
college buses cafeteria and play-grounds.
iv) To behave in a sober and dignified manner during college functions and on trips/outings.
v) Not to leave the college premises without permission during college hours. In case of
emergency, they are allowed to go only with their parents after seeking permission from
the principal.
vi) To note that insolence and misbehaviour of any kind will call for strict disciplinary
action, which could even result in expulsion from college.
vii) Not to enter the offices and staff rooms without prior permission.
viii) Not to create commotion in free time by thronging the corridors but disperse
immediately.
ix) Not to see any outsider during College hours without the permission of the Principal.
x) a) Not to wear jewellery (The college will not be responsible for any loss)
b) Not to bring electronic and electrical gadgets such as MP Players, I. Pad, Mobile,
Camera etc.
xi) Not to represent or take part in any Radio or T.V. and print media programs/articles
without the prior permission of the Principal.
xii) To leave the college premises within half an hour after pack up time, otherwise, the
administration must be informed of reason to remain on premises.

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Students are encouraged to participate in co-curricular activities such as sports, debates,
Naat, Qirat, National songs, Dramatics, Calligraphy etc. Co-curricular activities help to nurture
leadership qualities, cultivate a team spirit and polish innate talent in students.

Clubs and Societies
In addition to academics, our College makes every effort to include within the framework
of the curriculum a variety of other co-curricular activities which support and enhance the main
educational activities. It is incumbent upon every education institution to encourage among the
students the development of the aesthetic sense as well as the creativity which gives a richer and
more meaningful purpose to life. To promote extra-curricular activities on a more regular scale,
we have introduced societies at the senior school level and college level.

The creative efforts of the staff and students of this college are reflected in the pages of
the College Magazine “SAHAR”. Articles written by students and staff in Urdu and English are
selected and edited by an Editorial Board including students Editors also. Principal is the patron
In Chief of the College Magazine.

MONTHLY NEWS LETTER


The College magazine editorial board publishes monthly newsletter. Life at IMCG, F-7/4,
is presented: College news, activities in accordance with the academic calendar and pictorial
reports of functions are highlighted.
INFIRMARY
The facility of a proper sick room with medicines and a full time Nurse is available on
the College Campus to meet emergency needs.

We have spacious, well equipped and well maintained labs that cater the needs of
students and prepare them for the practical examination.

All the College libraries are well equipped with a variety of reading material in the form
of books, journals, periodicals and news papers. Reference books both in arts and science
subjects are available to students and teachers. Almost all classes have a library period once a
week. Books are issued to students in accordance with the following rules:-
a) School/College students can borrow two books at a time.
b) Books will be lent for a period of 1 week. This period can be extended further
after the physical presentation of books.
c) Reference books are not issued. Students can consult theses books in the library as
when needed.
d) The borrower will replace or pay the current price of the books plus a fine upto a
maximum of Rs. 50/- if the book is lost or damaged.
e) A fine of Rs. 10/- per day per book will be charged if the books are not returned
on due date.
f) The library books must be returned at least 15 days before the commencement of
preparatory leave for the annual examination.

TRANSPORTATION
The College has 08 buses for the transportation of students. At present 2000 students
travel by college buses. Bus charges are Rs. 500/- per month for college level students only.
Transport facility to the desirous students will only be provided on specific routes in Islamabad
subject to availability of seats on first come first served basis. Non-availability of seats in any
route will be displayed on college Notice Board. So the parents are requested not to pressurize
the college administration in this matter.

EDUCATIONAL TRIPS
Educational trips under the supervision of staff members are arranged by the college.
Every possible opportunity is provided to the students to get education experience.

CANTEEN
There is a reasonably good college canteen which provides stationery and eatables.

IDENTITY, FEE AND BUS CARDS


Every bonafide student of the college is provided with the College identity/fee card.
Students are required to keep the identity card in their possession. The same must be produced
on demand.

Duplicate identity card is issued under very special circumstances.

Students availing college transport, will be issued boarding cards which are to kept in
their possession when they travel by the College buses. A student can be stopped from availing
the bus facility if she fails to produce the bus boarding card on demand by the transport
committee, transport Incharge and bus conductor.

GIRLS GUIDE
We have Girls Guides in the college section, Girl Guides in the Senior Section, Junior
Guides in the Junior Section. There is also one Guider for each section of the college to supervise
and guide the students.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION
Keeping in view the significance of co-curricular activities, balanced and sound training
is imparted in the fields of games, sports and athletics. Adequate facilities exist in the college for
badminton, volley ball, table tennis and net ball, cricket and gymnastics. Efforts are being made
to introduce new games and improve the existing facilities.

COLLEGE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE


The Executive Committee shall consist of the following members:-

1) Chairperson Principal of the institution.


2) President A parent elected by the General Body through a majority
vote.
3) General Secretary Nominated by the Chairperson from amongst the teaching
faculty.
4) Finance Secretary A parent elected by the General Body.

Four Executive Members including Vice Principal, Headmistress and teachers nominated
by the Principal.
Six Executive Members from amongst the parents elected by the General body.
Two individuals nominated from the community may be inducted as honorary members
on the recommendation of the Executive committee.

COLLEGE UNIFORM
College Uniform
All the students must attend college in proper uniform which is specified as follows:-
1. White Cotton Kameez (knee length)
2. White Cotton Shalwar (Paincha 7 inches).
3. White Cotton Dupatta with coloured ribbon at the edge (colour of the ribbon
prescribed by the college).
4. White Socks.
5. Black College shoes/joggers.
6. Black front open sweater.
7. Black Blazer with college monogram.
8. White Scarf (Optional).
9. Black hair accessories.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
1. College badges provided by the College (on payment) are to be worn during
college hours.
2. White overall in the laboratories are mandatory.
3. Use of cosmetics, imitation or real jewellery, high heeled shoes are not allowed.
4. Uniform fabric and fitting should be decent.
5. Hair should either be nearly trimmed, plaited or tied with a hair band.
6. Foreign students are also directed to attend college in prescribed uniform.
7. Student without uniform will be denied entry to the college.
8. Student must dressed in uniform when they come to college for official reasons
such as, Roll number slips for Board/University Examination, collection of signed
journals, etc.
9. It is binding on all bonafide students to be in college uniform while appearing in
Board/University and Home Examination.
