Title: Enhancing Skills on TOS Preparation and Test Construction

I. Rationale

At the heart of every assessment framework is the recognition and deliberate consideration of the learners’ zone of proximal development (Vygotzky, 1978). This means that
appropriate classroom assessment should be committed to ensure learners’ success in moving from guided to independent display of knowledge, understanding, and skills, which enables them
to transfer their learning successfully in real-life situations. From this point of view, assessment is believed to be in unity with the instruction. Since teachers play a significant role in
measuring the learners’ progress and considering the academic gaps brought by CoViD 19 pandemic, there is a need to conduct a refresher course on TOS Preparation and Test Construction.
This LAC session aims to 1.) provide teachers with appropriate guide in the preparation of TOS and test questionnaires; 2.) orient teachers with the principles of test construction; and 3.) equip
teachers with knowledge and skills on the crafting of TOS and writing of test questionnaires.

I. Rationale

Innovative instructional practices are critical to produce learners who are functionally literate and globally competitive individuals. Appropriate innovations in instruction can develop
learners’ creativity and critical thinking skills making them learn the most significant details of the lesson. Since teachers play a significant role in the educative process of the learners and
given the changing landscape of the educational area, a Learning Action Cell on Enhancing Instructional Practices Among Teachers is found beneficial. This LAC session aims to 1.) provide
teachers with appropriate guide in designing lessons through 7Es; 2.) orient teachers with the principles of writing lesson plans; and 3.) equip teachers with knowledge and skills on the writing
of lesson plans following 7Es format.
