I am Fenil, an Indian citizen aspiring to complete my Bachelor’s degree in Science (Biology) from the
University of Regina, Canada. As a self-motivated individual, I want to establish myself as a
competent professional in the years to come.
I have presented all the relevant details for my student visa application process in Canada. This will
help you in making the decision regarding my visa application. I believe that you will be considerate
about the application, and arrive at a favourable decision, understanding the importance of the
Bachelor’s program for my career.
Academic details
I have been serious with my studies all these years, and believe that practical experience makes a
person seasoned for professional pursuits. I was proactive in various extracurricular activities,
besides performing consistently well in the academic front. I cleared my 12th grades in March, 2018
from the …School with …% grades. Prior to that, I had cleared my Secondary examination in … from
the …School with …% marks.
My family details
I come from a humble nuclear family in India. We are four members, and my father is a selection
proprietor. My mother is a self-employed professional, while my sister is a student. I have been lucky
to grow up in a family that values moral aesthetics. My parents have cultivated the cherished ethics
in me, that have contributed to a balanced growth of my personality.
Why have I chosen to pursue the Bachelor’s degree in Science (Biology) Program?
Since my childhood, I was inclined towards practical-oriented subjects. I want to specialize in Biology
as it appeals to my intellect more than the other branches of science. Besides, I believe that the
professional front today has a lot of career potential for deserving candidates, specializing in this
area. Microbiology and biochemistry are two of the most promising spheres to explore. Besides, I
can go for more specific courses at the subsequent levels, like Forensics, once I complete this
degree. Biology is a vast subject and I have the opportunity to explore the areas of my interest.
These include marine life, cells, ecology and much more. Each of these individual schools opens up
lucrative career prospects for skilled professionals. I would also like to participate in field and lab
work, that comes as a part of the curriculum. Specializing in Biology will keep several professional
avenues open for me, after I graduate from the University. I have also considered the scope of
research after completing the course, focussing on Biology. Students pursuing Biology in their higher
studies enjoy the scope of extensive research work at the subsequent stages. As I am more inclined
towards practical studies than theoretical aspects, I would like to keep this domain open for me.
Besides, when I work as a team along with others in the practical classes, I can develop my skills in
delegation, communication and research.
Why did I choose Canada for the course? Why not India or any other country?
After completing my 12th grades, I had been looking for a platform to pursue my graduate course,
which would bestow me with a global recognition. In the competitive job environment, a universally
accepted degree would bolster my profile to a significant extent. As I searched for a relevant course
in the universities in India, scanning through their curriculums, I realized that they lacked the global
exposure that I was looking for. Eventually, I started to examine similar courses in institutions
outside India. I came across certain universities in the US, the UK, Australia, Ireland and Canada. It
was a long process, studying the relative advantages of pursuing the course from each of these
countries. I found that Canada is far more affordable to me, than the other countries I had
considered. The quality of education in Canada adheres to the international standards. Besides, the
employment rate of students graduating from Canada in India also looks impressive. I considered all
these aspects before deciding to pursue the course from Canada.
While scanning through the websites, I came across several universities in Canada that offered
quality education and matched each other in terms of infrastructural superiority. Well, the entire
process has been overwhelming, as it was a time-consuming task to evaluate the comparative
benefits of choosing a particular university to pursue the course. In order to get a comprehensive
idea on these institutes, I visited several academic institute review websites. Apart from this, I joined
some discussion forums, where former and existing students from different Canadian institutes
share their feedback. It was during this process that I came to learn about the University of Regina. I
was impressed with the practical-oriented courses and curriculum. Besides, the academic
infrastructure and laboratories are upgraded and the course is closely aligned with the industrial
requirements. The seasoned faculty and superb infrastructure in the University are among the key
reasons behind my decision.
After completing the Bachelor’s degree, I will get back to India and explore the career opportunities
here. Completing the course from the esteemed university will open up the gateways to me to
further specialize in the subject. In the long-term, I look forward to establish myself as an
accomplished professional in microbiology or marine biology. Besides, I have other opportunities in
the field of biochemistry, molecular biology and so on. I will be able to determine my future path
after I gain a greater acquaintance with the course at the university. India is a fast-developing
economy, and I would like to strengthen my organization back here after specializing in the subject.
Concluding request
I am confident that I have been able to convey my situation clearly to you. I earnestly request you to
consider my application and take a decision that would allow me to pursue the program from
Canada.
