    Dear 5th Grade Families,

    With the end of the school year just around the corner, we wanted to let you know that we’re here to
    support you and your child with the transition to middle school. We have several events coming up to
    help with this process and are available to answer your questions along the way.

    Middle School Field Trip | Wednesday, April 12, 9:30-11 a.m.


    5th graders from all elementary schools will tour their assigned middle schools. Elementary students
    will get a glimpse of middle school life, meet teachers and students, and learn how to prepare for
    middle school. 

    Presentations to 5th Grade Classes | Week of April 17


    Middle school counselors will visit 5th grade classrooms to talk with students about the transition to
    middle school and how to register for elective classes.

    Middle School Information Night | Monday, April 24, 5:30-7 p.m.


    5th grade families are invited to visit their assigned middle school. Come hear from teachers and
    staff about the transition to middle school and how to register for elective classes. Spanish
    interpretation provided.

    Elective Course Registration | April 24-May 4


    The elective course guide for GHMS is available on our Student Services website at:
    https://gravellyhillschoolcounseling.weebly.com/ Please read through descriptions of the courses
    available to 6th graders and talk with your child about which classes they’d be interested in taking. 

    Students will enter their elective course requests in their assigned middle school’s Google form.
    Elementary school counselors and teachers will have the link to the form and can assist with
    completing it online. The form will also be available on the website above when registration opens on
    Monday, April 24.  Registration forms must be completed by Thursday, May 4.

    Excursión de la Escuela Intermedia | Miércoles, 12 de abril, 9:30-11 a.m.


    Los alumnos de 5º grado de todas las escuelas primarias visitarán las escuelas intermedias que les han
    sido asignadas. Los estudiantes de primaria podrán echar un vistazo a la vida de la escuela intermedia,
    conocer a maestros y estudiantes, y aprender a prepararse para la escuela media. 

    Presentaciones a las clases de 5º grado | Semana del 17 de abril


    Los consejeros de la escuela intermedia visitarán las aulas de 5º grado para hablar con los estudiantes
    sobre la transición a la escuela intermedia y cómo inscribirse en las clases optativas.

    Inscripción en Cursos Optativos | 24 de abril-4 de mayo
