1.0 MOS PURPOSE

The purpose of this Work Method Statement for plaster is to


outline and describe in detail the procedure such as setting
and lay-out plan on actual location, erection of scaffolding,
Rendering of wall and all other related activity. This activity
should be performed with strict compliance and
implementation of Safety Requirements & Procedure and
project specifications to complete the work

2.0 MOS SCOPE

This Work Method Statement refers to various work procedures contained within project
control documents, which explains and covers the Plaster Work.

3.0 DOCUMENT CONTROL

3.1 This project procedure is a controlled document as required by the Project Policy and
issued in accordance with the contractual requirements.

3.2 Revision of this document will be issued in accordance with the project procedure and
requirement.

5.0 RESPONSIBILITY

 Project Coordinator / Construction Manager are responsible for


overall management of the job with quality and safety as per
approved shop drawing and method statement.
 Site Engineer / HSE Engineer to ensure that concerned work
force is familiar with the activity, hazards and mitigated effects
of the situation.
 Site Foreman to ensure that the work crew is familiar with the safety requirement of this
activity.
 The safety of all personal, equipment and plant operations will be
the responsibility of the CM in coordination with the HSE
Engineer.

6.0 Resources

Polysulfide Epoxy works, whereby the number of machineries and tools required
will be determined upon progress and upon schedule of work

7.0 Work procedure :


7.1 Work preparation: -

1- Cleaning of completed masonry wall and concrete structure prior to survey markings
and lay-out
2- Lay-out and put markings on the concrete structure and masonry wall the correct and
final alignment and required thickness of plastering..
3- Apply forcefully rush coat on concrete and concrete masonry surfaces indicated for
direct plaster application. Dash coat is to cover full surface to be plastered and is to
provide rough surface of sharp protrusions ranging 3.0mm and 5.0mm
4- Curing rush coat for 3 days
5- Before plastering starts, dampen, by spraying water concrete rush coat surfaces that
are to receive plaster with clean water

7.2. WORK EXECUTION:

1- All plaster shall be prepared in a mechanical mixer mix 1:5 (1 part cement and 5 part
sand) using sufficient water to produce a workable consistency..
2- The second coat shall be applied with sufficient material and pressure to ensure tight contact
with dash coat.
3- Applied plaster shall be floated as smooth as possible and then steel-troweled. Steel troweling
shall be delayed as long as possible and used only to eliminate the uneven points and to force
aggregate particles into the plaster surface.
4- Each plaster coat shall be applied to an entire wall without interruption to avoid cold
joints and abrupt changes in the uniform appearance of succeeding coats. Wet plaster
shall abut set plaster at naturally occurring interruptions in the plane of the plaster,
such as corner angles, openings and control joints where this is possible.
5- Make internal angles and corners square.

7- Finished grooves shall be neat, of uniform width and depth, sharp straight edges and
exact vertical and horizontal lines..
8- Elevation grooves shall be cut before plaster sets by using molded guide or wooden
strip and fixing it in temporary grout and screed. Regarding recessed, follow the
procedures same as grooves
9- Plaster should not deviate more than plus or minus 3mm in 3m from a true plane in
finished plaster surfaces, as measured by a 3-m straight edge placed in any location
on surface
10- Provide sufficient moisture in the plaster by spraying water as frequently as required at least
twice per day.
11- Inspection to be done for rush coat first and second for the final plaster Applying .

8.0 WORK INSPECTION FOR EPOXY COAT

The inspection requests shall be in accordance with the ITP.

9.0 Health & Safety Management Plan:

Project specific HSE Plan covering all aspects of construction safety,


environmental protection and unity protection has been submitted to the
Client for approval. This plan included:

 A dedicated Health and Safety team will be deployed to the site under the
supervision of a Health and Safety Engineer and Safety Officers. The project
will be controlled as per the approved health and Safety plan.
 It is Metito’s policy that every employee shall be provided with a healthy
and safe environment in Which to work. To this end, every effort will be
made and positive action taken at all times, by all employees, to ensure
healthy and safe working conditions at all company project work site and
facilities
 The general philosophy is each person on site is responsible for safe working practice
 HSE team shall monitor, guide and train all employees’ to achieve a safe working
environment by
implementing work rules to achieve these goals.
 Regular job safety analysis will be done
 Regular awareness programs will be conducted
 Special training programs
 Encourage communication from work force
 Encourage daily reminders by each supervisors
 Weekly surveillance of all rigging equipment and tools, site manpower distribution
 Fire prevention program, identify hazardous areas, material and storage, establish
 Alarms response teams, regular checks on firefighting equipment, fire watcher’s
 Training and firefighting training.
 Daily tool box meetings for supervisory and non-supervisory work force.
