Dear colleague
The 19th pOwer-gen asia is delighted to be returning to Kuala lumpur, Malaysia from the 27th to 29th september 2011, for what will be an outstanding conference and exhibition bringing together many of the leading players, both people and organizations, from the power generation, renewable & sustainable energy and transmission & distribution industries. we are once again co-located with renewable energy world asia, which has grown year-on-year to become a leading exhibition and conference, in south east asia, for the renewable and sustainable energy industry. pOwer-gen asia enjoys the full support and endorsement of the leading industry related organizations in Malaysia, including the Ministry of energy, green Technology & water (KeTTha), Tenaga nasional berhad, suruhanjaya Tenaga (energy commission), sarawak energy, sabah electricity, The electrical & electronics association of Malaysia (TeeaM), institute of engineers Malaysia, Malaysian gas association and Malaysian society for engineering & Technology. The event also benefits from the additional support of the independent power producers Forum. pOwer-gen asia continues to push the boundaries in conference content and once again offers a leading line up of conference speakers, from around the world, discussing important topics and issues that are key to the power generation and transmission & distribution industries across the asean region. with its oil and gas reserves predicted to last for only another 3 decades, and the Malaysian economy predicted to grow by 6% per annum over the next 5 years, the government must reform its power sector and use private investment to ensure its national growth. There is a general agreement that if economic growth proceeds at predicted rates, there could be a generation deficit by 2018. The events in Japan at the beginning of this year have also thrown great light on the safety factors and viability of nuclear power and so we will be offering a special day breakout session to discuss this subject. This will include a panel discussion of leading industry experts who will put forward both sides of the argument and certainly makes for an interesting debate. pOwer-gen asia, co-located with renewable energy world asia, will provide the platform for international power executives to meet under one roof and receive vital information first hand. The event offers a unique forum to meet the regions power needs by putting them face-to-face with key decision makers and provide the best possible opportunity to share ideas, meet new contacts and build business relationships. in this pre-show guide you will find the conference programme, correct at the time of printing, and all the relevant information you need to fully prepare and plan your visit to the show. To participate, simply complete and return the enclosed registration Form, or register on-line at www.powergenasia.com. we look forward to welcoming you to the Klcc convention centre, Kuala lumpur, Malaysia from the 27th to 29th september, where you will find the best power networking opportunities available in asia. KUALA LUMPUR
The Malay peninsula is not only home to beautiful beaches, untouched rainforests, and inspiring mountains, it is also the site of one of asias most energetic and exiting cities: Kuala lumpur. Kl takes understandable pride in its cultural diversity evidenced by Malay artworks, islamic architecture, indian temples, chinatown markets, and, most importantly, an astonishing array of ethnic foods. in fact, for locals and visitors alike, Kl is a food-lovers paradise, whether youre navigating the famed food hawker stalls of Jalan alor or lounging with the hip young things on Jalan sultan ismail. The petronas Towers monopolies the skyline, the tranquil lake gardens offer a beautiful retreat from city life, and just out of town lie the batu caves and Kuala gandah elephant sanctuary.
