    Is School A Good Thing?

    School is a very important part of human life because school makes us smarter and wiser.

    Without school, nobody will know how to read, write, and communicate with each other. School

    is always important because when you go to school you will get to learn new things that you

    have never seen and known before and you will also get to meet with new friends and new

    teachers. School is good because the more education we have the more jobs we will find. But for

    the uneducated people they will have a hard time looking for jobs because most companies want

    their employees to be smart and have knowledge. “Uneducated people don’t have as many of the

    skills needed that help get a good job.” School is important because not only do we get to learn

    new things, but we get to learn about teachers’ daily activities and why they want to teach

    people.

    Education is always open for people who want to learn but some people don’t take the

    opportunity to learn. When someone is educated their attitudes are different because you could

    see when they speak, and they show good manners and be respectful to people. I think school is

    always very important because some people want to go to school but they can’t instead they have

    to work hard for their family. Most of the kids around the world want to go to school and learn

    but they don’t have the opportunity because their parents might be poor, have household conflict

    and couldn’t afford the school for their kids.

    I think here in America we have a lot of choices and opportunities, but we take them for

    granted. Most kids in Myanmar wanted the most to go to school, but they couldn't because the

    Burmese soldiers wouldn’t let them. “The kids out of the school because of the Syria crisis are

    now working in very dangerous sectors in Turkey, in Lebanon, in Jordan.” They don’t want

    Karen people to be smarter than them. So, my parents decided to move to a Thailand refugee

    camp so we could be free from the Burmese soldiers and go to school freely without being

    afraid. The school in the refugee camp was not as good as here in America because we didn’t get

    proper education and we didn’t have enough school supplies for everybody. In each notebook we

    had to write four different subjects and we also didn’t have calculators, so we had to remember

    the multiplication tables in our heads. The school was also very far from our house, so we had to

    get there by walking. We couldn’t miss school even if it rained or flooded. We still have to get

    there on time because if we didn’t the teacher spanked us or made us clean the whole school

    when classes were over.

    Going to school is a lot more fun than staying home and doing nothing. If we go to school, what

    we learn in school we can tell our parents because they don’t know, because they also never go to

    school before. School is there for people to learn and it doesn’t judge people if they’re smart or

    not. The school always welcomes people. `
