VI Semester BBA PROJECT GUIDELINES

Introduction
The BBA course of Bangalore University requires every student to work in a business
organisation for three weeks is called Internship.  Students find internships beneficial because
they offer hands-on work experience in fields related to their central area of study. In
addition, they provide practical knowledge on how things work within an organization; this
knowledge can come in handy when applying for full-time positions after graduation .

After they work in an organisation prepare a REPORT as a partial fulfillment of the course.
Students are expected to carry out their work with commitment, quality and integrity. It
carries a maximum of 100 marks and 30 marks for the Viva-voce examination and 70 Marks
for Project of not less than 50 pages. It is evaluated by external examiners university team
appointed by BOE.

-Business administration internships are a great way to gain knowledge and apply skills
in a business setting . In a Business entity he may work in any department, and
organization may be manufacturing , services ,trading ,show rooms, hotels,
hospital ,financial , Training centers and NGO also and few examples of functional
departments are.,

-Production Department, He understands product Mix of the company , operation


techniques inventory management and Purchase department

- Marketing and logistic department ,With this internship, he’ll learn how to analyze data,.  It
can help teach them how to generate demand for a product or service and how to satisfy
customers about that same product or service. and create and execute a marketing strategy.

-Sales internships involve assisting a company’s sales department. Sales teams work directly
with clients to help them find solutions to their problems.

-An accounting internship can expose, from auditing financial statements and preparing tax
returns for clients with complex financial situations to analyzing how businesses expend
resources .

-In some organisation Management training internships are designed it provide students with
experience in various management aspects and leadership skills.
-An HR internship allows to gain experience in human resources management. He can help
with employee recruitment and retention by helping design recruitment strategies or
conducting interviews, he can monitor employee satisfaction levels .

a) The faculty members should guide the students in this process like providing
Permission letter, selecting company, Drafting Company profile , organization
structure Nature of business, SWOT analysis on company.
b) Details of the working of all Departments in the organization should be provided in
the report Chapter 3
c) The student can identify a problem in a particular department (during internship)and
give a brief note on it and provide suggestions for the same.

1.2: Chapter Contents:

Suggested contents for chapters are as follows:


Chapter One: Introduction–Based on the company chosen, content should be summarized
by the student in his/her words which relates to the problem of the research. Maximum 5 to 6
pages.
Chapter Two : Research Design

a. Scope of the Study


b. Objectives of the Study
c. Methodology
d. Limitations of the study (2 Pages)

Chapter Three: Organisational Study that includes Company Profile,when it was


established, capital structure, Management team, nature of firm, Organisation structure,
Turnover, profit analysis financial position through balance sheet analysis.(optional) (30-35
pages)
3.1 Company Introduction and brief profile
3.2 Functional Departments in the Organisation
3.3 Identification/Analysis of a problem in a particular department (Few graphs and tables
may be included)
3.4 SWOT Analysis
The above subdivisions should be included in the report.
Chapter Four : Learning outcome includes where he worked what he observed, if he had
identified any problems, suggestions to the same & conclusion(3 pages)

1.3. Presentation of the report:

a. Typing should be done on one side of the A-4 size paper.

b. The left side margin should be 1.75 inches, the right, top and bottom margin should be 1
inch each.

c. Font size: Chapter heading: 18; Sub-heading: 14 and text of the running matter: 12.

d. Fonts to be used are Times New Roman.

e. The text of the project should have 1.5 line spacing; quotations and foot notes should be in
single-line space.

f. Chapter heading should be capitalized and should be kept at center.


g. Tables, graphs and diagrams should have respective number, captions and source.

h. The body of the report must not be less than 50 pages.

i The numbering of chapters, divisions and sub-divisions should be done, using Arabic
numerals only. For example, sub-division 2 under division 4 of chapter 3 should be numbered
as 3.4.2.
