1.0 Purpose

1.1 To provide a method statement for rearranging the STP tank which was shifted from its
exact position due to the heavy rain, this activity will be carried out in accordance with
the approved lifting plan.

2.0 Scope Of Work

2.1 This method of statement describes the activities and procedures for lifting and
relocating the STP water retaining tank to its exact location by using the appropriate
crane and following the proper lifting operations in Duqm city- Phase-1”.

6.0 Safety

6.1 Prior to the commencement of any activities, the workforce will receive an induction
talk on the project site safety requirements. This induction talk will include both
activity safety issues, as well as general safety requirements.
6.2 Where possible hazards may arise from the lifting activities, the necessary safety
measures will be taken to prevent accident or injury at all times. This may include
barriers, warning tape/ net, signage, flagman, and proper lighting if required.

6.3 Proper communication equipment to be used.


6.4 Front line supervisor will ensure that Personal Protective Equipment is worn by site
personnel at all times during the activity.
6.5 The work area for the lifting operation must be inspected and compacted if required to
ensure the safe completion of the lifting operation.
6.6 Equipment movement in the work area must be controlled and only required plants and
equipment to be allowed in the area and others must be parked away in the designated
parking area.
6.7 Warning tapes, cautionary signs, and lights (if required) may be provided.
6.8 Safe access to the area shall be provided.
6.9 Suitable shoring may be provided in case of loose soil around the STP tank.
6.10 Ensure the STP Tank must be cleared from the soil before lifting.
6.11 Proper climbing methods are to be used if it is necessary to go to the top of the STP
tank.
6.12 Lifting gear must be attached to the proper lifting points of the STP tank.
6.13 Provisions of adequate cool drinking water, shade, and saltwater tablets will be in
place.
6.14 Company’s health and safety requirements shall be strictly followed by all and
monitored by the Safety Officer.

7.0 Responsibilities

Project Manager
PM shall be overall responsible for the complete activities including but not limited to : -

 Execute the work as per the lifting plan.


 Organize the material.
 Organizing the required machinery and tools at site.
 Control the material, Manpower, and machinery at site.
 Ensure the quality of work.
 Stage inspections and surveillance.
 Coordinate with consultant / Client representative.
 Maintain the relevant records for the work.
 Complete the work in planned time frame.
 Maintaining quality and safety requirements during the execution of work.

Lifting Supervisors

 To execute the work as per the approved lifting plan.


 Maintaining quality and safety requirements during the execution of work.
 Deploying manpower, machinery and arranging material at site.
 Supervising the work and ensuring the completion in time.
 Ensure the quality of work.
 Complete the work in a planned time frame.
 Control manpower, machinery, and material at site.
 Arrange the material at site in time.
 Maintain good housekeeping at site.

8.0 Procedure
The working methodology for the project covers the following:

A) lifting plan.

B) Cleaning the soil around the STP tank

B) Inspections

A) Lifting plan:

 Lifting plan is attached to this document.

B) Cleaning the soil around the STP tank:

 Soil must be cleaned around the tank and it is ensured that STP tank should be only resting on
the ground before the lifting starts.
 STP tank's new location must be properly arranged

C) Inspections:

 The contractor will perform an initial inspection as soon as a bed levels of the backfilling are
prepared to receive the backfilling.

This inspection request will verify the following items.

a. area of the activity.


b. ground barring condition.
c. STP tank inside and outside condition.
