My Personal Learning styles plan:
Choose for the suggestions listed above 4-5 techniques you will try
this quarter as you study for classes. List them here as an action
plandetailing how you will incorporate multi-sensory learning into
your study time.
Firstly I will put myself in the picture so I can easily imagine the
situation and ask myself how do I feel and whats my action that I
will take. Secondly, by using a flash card for self-quiz. I will use a
different colour for each side and create a game with them
because that will be more interesting. Then, I probably use a
background music to comfort myself while studying and it can help
to release stress. Lastly, I will create my own auditory notes using a
tape recorder so I can memorize it more easily.

Short Term Memory : A memory that stores about seven items for
30 seconds without any training or revision.

long-term memory is not limited and does not decline quickly.

Memory strategies:
Help students in their encoding, storing, and
retrieving the information (help to remember and
recall)
 I use catchword strategy such as ROYGBIV
to remember the colours of rainbow.
 If I do not have a smartphone or pen and
paper. I use a rehearsal strategy by repeat a
telephone number 10 times.

131
5.1 NOTE-TAKING STRATEGIES

132
NOTE TAKING TIPS
 Write a phrases, not full sentences
 Take notes in your own words, so you can easily
understand
 Structure your notes with headings, subheadings
and numbered lists with your simple points
 Code your notes by using a colour and symbols to
mark structure and emphasis.
 Use colour to highlight major sections, main
points and diagrams.

Why Taking Lecture Notes?

Research suggests that physical writing activates

regions of the brain that involve thinking,
language and working memory.

Only 10 percent of an audio lecture may last in

memory, but students who take and review their
notes can recall about 80% of a lecture.

her first semester:

Course and Grade (1st semester) Course Point Average

Hospitality and Tourism Industry (HTM130)?

6.66 + 5.01 + 12.00 + 12.00 + 6.00 + (3x4) + 5.01+ 4.00

20
= 62.68
20
= 3.134

3. What is the difference in GPA?

140
2.134 – 2.7845 + 0.35

6. What is the difference in GPA?

4.2-3.55 = 0.45

7. What is the difference in CGPA?

CGPA 1ST = 55.69 + 80.00 =3.39
40
CGPA 2ND = 62.68 + 71.00 =3.17
40
CGPA DIFFERENCE = 3.39 - 3.17 =0.22

141
8. What does Nur have to do in order to achieve a GPA of 3.0 in the 2 nd semester if her
CGPA falls below 2.50 in the 1st semester?
