One way of integrating this in her lessons is to discuss how showing kindness towards
others is not just for being nice, but also for developing character and leadership skills. In class,
she can have a chat with each student as they arrive or after they have completed their
homework to find out what they did to demonstrate their love for country. She can also ask
them about their experiences outside the classroom where they showed kindness towards
others by helping someone else or doing something good for someone else without expecting
anything in return.
The first step is to build up Luis’s self-esteem. Teacher Andrew will do this by giving him
positive feedback about his work on the field trip and by allowing him the opportunity to
practice his skills in a safe setting. The second step is to create an environment that promotes
inclusion for Luis. This means making sure that everyone feels welcome at school, including
people with disabilities or those who are not part of the dominant culture. Teachers should also
provide information about how they can support students who are different from themselves,
such as providing resources for parents or getting involved with organizations that promote
diversity and inclusion. Finally, Teacher Andrew will encourage Luis to join a team activity
where he can practice sharing ideas and expressing himself confidently through speech or
writing.

When it comes to teaching, I think it's important to first and foremost strive to make
sure that the environment you provide in your classroom is child-friendly and gender-sensitive.
This means ensuring that the students feel safe, but also that they have the tools they need to
learn. If a student feels safe and comfortable in your classroom, then they are more likely to
open up to you about their feelings and thoughts—which is what you want from them when
you're trying to teach them something new.
Scenario 2:
Teacher Luis is a Grade 10 guidance counselor and a Values Education teacher at Arellano
High School. One of his classes has a diverse religious background. One day, two of the
learners insisted that the class should start with a prayer led by an assigned student. This
leads to a heated debate arguing about their own religious and spiritual beliefs. How can
Teacher Luis mediate and help resolve the argument? (You may refer to Department Order
(No. 32, s. 2013) and Department Order (69, s. 1990)).
There are times when it is necessary for teachers to take a stand in favor of one religion
or another over another because it is important for students' overall well-being and
development as citizens of our country. For example, if two or more students insist that a class
start with prayer led by an assigned student, then Teacher Luis should remind them that they
do not have the authority over other students' religious beliefs—nor should they try to impose
their own religious beliefs on others. The best way for him to resolve this situation would be by
reminding both parties involved that there are other ways they can express their faith without
compromising other people's beliefs or freedoms.
Scenario 3:
The DepEd Core Values teaches us the love for God (maka-Diyos), love for fellow men (maka-
tao), love for nature (makakalikasan), and love for country (makabansa). Teacher Molina
inspires his Grade 2 learners to become a better version of themselves through exemplifying
qualities and characters of our national heroes. What classroom management strategies can
Teacher Molina employ to encourage learners to apply the DepEd core values in real life
situations?
Teacher Molina's classroom management strategies to teach the DepEd core values to
his Grade 2 learners include:
1. The use of role-plays and simulations to encourage students to reflect on the value
they want to embody.
2. The use of visual aids and art projects that help them visualize the character traits
they would like to develop.
3

3. The use of storytelling and games that help them see how their actions affect other
people, both good and bad.
4. The use of examples from history, literature and current events to show how these
values have shaped our country's history.

I, Geriza Joy R. Rico, pledge to support the DepEd Strategic Directions in its mission to
improve the quality of education in the Philippines.
As a Filipino, I believe that education is a right for every Filipino child, and that it is
important for all Filipinos to have access to high-quality education. I pledge to be active in my
own community, as well as at work and in my community, to ensure that everyone has access
to high-quality education. I will also promote this cause at home by teaching my family
members about this issue and encouraging them to act as well.
I will also be an advocate of this cause at work by working with individuals from
different departments who are not supportive of this initiative. If possible, I will seek out
opportunities where I can help spread awareness about this issue through social media
channels such as Facebook or Twitter.
This module has helped me reflect on the Vision, Mission, Core Values and Strategic
Directions of the Department of Education.
I have realized that the vision of the department is to create a safe learning
environment for all students. The mission is to provide quality education to all students so that
they can lead meaningful lives. The core values are excellence in teaching and learning,
personal accountability for student achievement, respect for others and adherence to high
standards. Finally, I have realized that the strategic directions are to continue providing quality
education for all students through strong partnerships with parents, community members and
other stakeholders.
2. How has this module helped you clarify your vision and motivations in serving your
learners better and in promoting a learner-centered environment for them?
This module has helped me clarify my vision and motivations for serving my learners
better and in promoting a learner-centered environment for them.
I've realized that I want to be able to serve all learners equally as a teacher, but also
have access to the tools and resources necessary to give each student exactly what they need.

In order to do this, I need to be able to identify what their needs are and how they can best
meet them. This tool has given me the ability to do just that!
I also want my students to feel empowered by the content we're learning together, so
it's important that I can create an environment where they feel safe expressing themselves and
asking questions. This module helps me do just that!
3. What are your personal beliefs and values that are aligned with the DepEd’s VMV (Vision,
Mission, Core Values)?
My personal beliefs and values align with the DepEd’s Vision, Mission, and Core Values
because I believe in the importance of learning and education as a human right.
I also believe that learning should be fun, and that we should do our best to ensure that
it is. In fact, I think that if we can't find a way to make learning enjoyable, then we shouldn't be
teaching it at all.
The Mission of the DepEd is to provide quality education for all Filipinos through
universal access to basic education for all, regardless of gender or religion. This mission
statement makes me feel like my mission is to help students learn what they need to know in
order to succeed in school. I want them to have fun while they're learning so they don't get
bored by schoolwork or fall behind on their homework because they don't have anything else
exciting going on in their lives.

because the teacher was late to enter the class. You also had other classes to attend to and had
no chance to meet your advisory class during that time. Who should you seek help to?
Teacher Lozano is a good teacher who cares about her students. She should discuss with
her daughter the situation so that she would know the reason behind not going to school on
that day. It is clearly shown that it was an act of bullying because the bully did not want to face
the consequences for what he/she did. The student should also clarify whose fault it is. Also, I
would recommend that she seek help from the Guidance Counselor and School Head so that
bullying would be handled carefully and swiftly.
Scenario 2
Teacher Mary Ann, a fellow teacher whom you consider a friend, messaged you on Facebook
and told you that she will be absent tomorrow. She asked you to substitute all her five classes.
Without letting you respond, she already sent you the learning materials for her lessons
tomorrow. However, you also have classes to attend, and your learners are expecting to deliver
a performance task that they prepared for. What are you going to do as a colleague and who
should you direct her to?
As a colleague, I have to direct her to her designated Head Teacher. They are
responsible for her teachers' absence and ensure that classes are taught.
Scenario 3
Lito, the class president of your advisory class, was elected as the president of the Supreme
Student Government (SSG). After three months, his subject teachers are having trouble with his
class standing because of his frequent absences and non-submission of required written and
performance tasks. Lito is getting overwhelmed with the various school activities he manages.
What are you going to do as the adviser?
I will have to listen to Lito as he tells me the problem he has been facing in school. After
listening to him, I will decide what course of action should be taken based on the difficulty or
challenge being faced by Lito. If it is possible, I can also help Lito with his calendar of activities
and arrange for his teachers to help him with his work problems.
skills that the students need to learn in order for them to be successful in life. The
teacher can also play a very important role in their development by imparting knowledge
and skills upon them as they mature in their growth as human beings.
2. How do you think are those roles manifested in being a classroom adviser?
By carrying out these responsibilities in the classroom, the adviser exemplifies the
teacher's functions. fully carrying out his or her responsibilities toward all of his or her
students.
3. So far, how was your experience as a classroom adviser?
Teaching in a classroom is a wonderful and difficult experience for me. I've
discovered that I must effectively study classroom management. I also came to the
realization that every student has a unique learning style, which is why I need to include
a variety of activities in my sessions. They learn in a variety of methods, which makes
my job as a teacher really difficult. They encourage me to work hard to be a great
teacher and to continue developing professionally as a result of this experience.

A. Hold and communicate high behavioral expectations for your learners and yourself.
First, I will be clear in my directions, teaching practical skills that are useful and easy to learn.
Second, I will be clear in my rules - using language like "please" and "thank you" to show my
learners that they are your priority. Third, I will be dedicated to task completion by showing
positive reinforcement when appropriate and behaviorally based rewards when necessary.
Finally, I will make sure that communication flows smoothly between both sides so there are no
misunderstandings between practitioners (the learners) and me (the instructor).
b. Establish clear rules and procedures and instruct learners on how to follow them. Give
primary-level learners, in particular, a great deal of instruction, practice, and reminding.
The most important aspect of training is to identify the problem and develop a specific
plan of action. In order to achieve this, it is important to clearly define behavior expectations
while instructing learners on how to follow them. The primary-level learners, in particular, are
often reluctant to embark on new behaviors if their instructional efforts do not produce
