Social Welfare and Development (SW&D) Committee Interview Tasks

The SW&D Committee, VIT Pune under the guidance of the Dean – Student Activities is responsible
for carrying out Student Activities enabling all-round development of the students, implementing
social welfare schemes and initiatives by involving students of our institute.

Please note the following:

● Each post has been given a few pre-interview tasks.

● You are supposed to complete the tasks for all the posts you have applied for before the interview.
Your interview will be based on the same.

● Tasks for the Content Secretary, Social media Secretary, Multimedia Secretary & Finance
Secretary are supposed to be uploaded on the link given below prior to interview ( Rename file with
Name_PRN)

● For remaining posts, there is no compulsion to write them down. You can simply answer for the
same during the interview.

● Tasks for Social Activity Secretary (SAS):


1) Mention a few drawbacks of last year SW&D team (i.e. activities conducted, team structure etc.)
and also mention how it can be improved.

2) According to you what is idea for team work and what qualities should a leader have.

3) Mention 3 New Activities that you would like to implement in your tenure.
4) Briefly explain your Vision for the Social Welfare and Development Committee 2022-23 as a SAS.
● Tasks for Finance Secretary:

1) Enlist all the procedures involved in budget passing.


2) Prepare a Budget for Blood-D (Blood Donation Camp) 2023. (Assume approximate count of
donors and medical staff will be around 800)

I) Set 1

1) Write a news article on successful completion of Blood Donation Camp in VIT Pune. Consider
that 500 pints of blood were donated to AFMC Hospital.

2) Write a speech for the ending ceremony of Aatmabodh in Marathi.

3) Give content for 2 digital campaigns for publicity of Blood-D.

II) Set 2

1) Write a news article on successful completion of Aatmabodh in Marathi.

2) Write a letter to Budhani Wafers as a food sponsor for NSS Camp.

3) Give 2 ways of increasing reach through digital media.

III) Set 3

1) Write 5 captions for the event Utkarsh.(3 in English and 2 in Marathi)

2) Suggest a layout and titles of 9 posts on Instagram for a better feed.

● Task for Social Media Secretary (SM):

• Create 2 awareness campaigns (use a spam account for stories and stuff ) for A Book Donation
Drive and share your ideas how would you use social media platforms to create hype.
• Suppose you are working on Blood-D and you have to create engagement and hype for blood
donation, so make a root map of your plans pre-event post event and during the event and also
explain how the posting should happen.
• Suggest 3 ideas hot to reach out maximum people on Instagram by using our activity.
• Your thoughts on short and trending reels for activity.

● Tasks for Media Acquisition and Creatives:

1. Share your basic knowledge about photography and share any good photographs you have
clicked with your phone camera or SLRs.
2. Create (shoot)a cinematic video and share the Video settings and explain why you used those
settings (ISO, WB, Shutter Speed etc)
3. What is your vision on branding of the activity Police Mitra ,explain in detail each and every
expect how you will acquire the content and mange it on site and work with v-click
parallelly(you can refer the reference pdf or social media page on Instagram for activity brief)
and act as art director.
4. 4th task will be given to you 2 days before your interview.

● Tasks for Multimedia & Design Secretary:


*Upload your work on the link by making a folder with your name

1) List down all the softwares you have used in Designing and Video editing (Mobile video editing
apps are not allowed)

2) By using photoshop create a brochure for the activity Blood – D explaining and noting down
importance of blood donation ad why should one donate. (you will also be asked to share psd file and
you also have to explain what features and tolls in photoshop you have used.

3) Make a poster (insta story ) for Ganesh Chaturthi with theme “Sustainability and organic
approach” OR Independence Day poster and a story thread (with theme India’s progress and
achievements in the recent past and how India standout in the world)
4) Show your video editing skills with a video completely edited by you in any of the desktop video
editing softwares ( Premiere pro daVinchi, Final Cut pro etc.)

● Tasks for Publicity Secretary:


1) What would be your strategies to reach out to people for publicity of Aatmabodh?

2) Suggest some good strategies for virtual publicity.

3) Share your insights about coordination with your coordinators and volunteers?
● Tasks for Outreach Secretary
1) Provide a list of potential guests that you would consider approaching for our upcoming events.

2) What approach would you recommend for creating and publishing newsletters to promote our
events? Enlist some of the names of newsletters you know.

● Tasks for Scholarship Secretary :


1) List the names of various private scholarships for girl students.

2) Are you aware of some sources of scholarship platforms or websites for private scholarships?

3) How do you take initiative for enrollment of new scholarship schemes in our college?
4) Which various new schemes can you implement under the earn and learn program?

● Tasks for Database Secretary:


Suggest a Database Management System for carrying out GP2.

● Tasks for Sponsorship Secretary:


3) Design a sponsorship strategy for BLOOD- D. Also mention the number of coordinators
required and work allotted to them.

4) Enlist Potential sponsors nearby

● Tasks for Venue & Resource Secretary:


1) List down all the names of responsible authority for permission of: -

a) CLASSROOM

b) SEMINAR HALL

c) AUDITORIUM

d) LAWN (It should be in the serial order; only designation, not real names)

2) Any other resource of college authority. (desks, chairs, brooms etc.)


3) Make a rough list of resources required for GP2/event activities.

Tasks for Aesthetics Secretary:


1) Provide some creative ideas for aesthetics of Aatmabodh and Blood -D.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) Social Activity
To plan and execute the events
Will be responsible for the administrative work related to committee.
Will be responsible for team coordination in the committee.
Look upon coordinators work load management.

2) Technical Secretary
• Responsible for any kind of technical help.
• Responsible for development of application (app) of the committee.

New Positions

3) NSS Secretary
• Responsible for Administrative work related to NSS activities by PUNE University.
• Responsible for Unit registration and Camp registration for NSS CAMP 2023-24.
• Prepare NSS final audit after the Camp.

4) Media Aquisition and Creatives :

1. Media Acquisition:
- Coordinate and manage the acquisition of photos and videos for various Activities, intromeet etc.
- Work closely with the committeel members, activity heads, and participants to ensure coverage of important
moments.
- Ensure to Capture high-quality photographs and videos that effectively represent the activities.
- Maintain a database or archive of media assets for future use.

2. Photography and Videography Skills:


- Utilize your photography and videography skills to capture compelling and engaging visuals.
- Understand composition, lighting, and technical aspects to produce visually appealing content.
- Select appropriate equipment and tools for different situations and adjust settings accordingly.
- Edit and enhance photos and videos using software tools to ensure the highest quality output.

3. Creative Direction:
- Collaborate with the committe and other relevant organizers to develop creative concepts and ideas for events,
campaigns, and promotional materials.
- Provide artistic direction and guidance for visual elements, such as posters, banners, social media graphics, and
promotional videos.
- Ensure consistent branding and visual identity across different media platforms and materials.
- Work closely with graphic designers, copywriters, and other team members to bring creative concepts to life.

4. Communication and Collaboration:


- Effectively communicate with event organizers (Activityheads) and participants to understand their media
requirements.
- Collaborate with other committee members and volunteers to ensure media coverage for all events and activities.
- Maintain good relationships with colleagues, photographers, and videographers within the college community.

5. Organization and Time Management:


- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Meet deadlines for media acquisition, editing, and delivery of final content.
- Keep track of media equipment, props, and other resources, ensuring their proper storage and maintenance.
6. Creativity and Innovation:
- Stay updated with the latest trends and techniques in photography, videography, and design.
- Bring fresh and innovative ideas to enhance the visual representation of the student council and its activities.
- Experiment with different styles and approaches to capture and present media content.

Note : Remember, these responsibilities may vary depending on the specific needs and goals of
the college student council. It's important to work closely with the council members and adapt to
their requirements while fulfilling your role as Secretary* - For all Positions
