Three smart cards with different priority levels allow to identify the operator, register the hour and the
date of access and all the possible operations which have been done. The continuity group of Plus
Change allows to complete the operations even if a blackout occurs.

11.1 Machine turning on

Connect Plus Change to the 220V supply system using the cable in the equipment. Put the switch
located on the top right side on the ON position.
Insert the starting up key in the electrical lock located in the front side of the cabinet and turn
clockwise to turn on the machine.
In this phase every component of the machine is automatically activated with an initialization
“check” visualized on the display. Then the machine is ready to be used.

11.2 Machine turning off

To turn off the Plus Change it is enough to bring the 220V supply switch on OFF position. A buzzer
will inform about the end of the primary supply and the machine will automatically switch off in a
couple of minutes.
First, the PC board is switched off. One minute after the stop of the PC board, the peripheral supply
is disabled and the machine is completely turned off.
It is also possible to shutdown the machine by using the starting up key or using the proper
button in the Status menu.

11.3 Operator access smart card

Together with Plus Change you will receive three smart cards, used to interact with the machine.
The three cards will allow you to enter into machine configuration menu; the accesses have different
priorities to permit a more secure handling of all the functions.
For a higher security of these cards, the access to the service and configuration menu is protected by
a password. When the machine is delivered, all the three cards have a standard password. We
recommend to modify it during the first installation.
Follow instructions in the paragraph 12.8 for password changing.
It is possible to receive more smart cards if you need to give access to more operators; these cards
can then be programmed using the proper machine function as described in paragraph 12.8.
Every additional card must have different username and password in order to identify every different
operator.

Card access differs depending on the installed card reader type.

Chip/magnetic card reader

To enter the main menu place the card having the chip facing up into the card reader and wait until
the virtual keyboard is shown on the screen.
To exit the main menu just remove the card from the reader.

RFID card reader

Place the card close the RFID reader in order to enter the main menu: an acoustic signal will confirm
that the reading is done and a virtual keyboard will be shown on screen.
To exit the menu select the Account tab and press the Logout red button in the lower right corner of
the screen.
ATTENTION: in case of RFID card access, for security reasons an automatic logout will take place
after 120” of operator inactivity (no pressed button, no activity performed).

11.4 Admin level operator access

The smart card, having as initial user name admin, is the Master card.
This is the card having the highest access level (that is called admin level), it gives access to all the
operator interface menus.
Once the card is read correctly, the virtual keyboard is shown on the screen: type the password
(admin at first access) and press Return button.
If the password is correct, you will enter into the first menu; otherwise you will see an error message
on the bottom right corner.

12. Admin level operator interface functions

The access through the admin level card allows the operator to interact with all the menus.
The tabs on the upper part of the screen allow to move inside the different menus by pressing the icons.
The two squares with arrows (on the right upper side) allow to browse through different menus.

12.1 Accounting

This page shows the total amount corresponding to:

• banknote in (Tot notes IN)

• banknote out (Tot notes OUT)
• coins in (Tot coins IN)
• coins out (Tot coins OUT)
• ticket in (Tot ticket IN) when this function is available
• ticket out (Tot ticket OUT) when this function is available

Under each voice you will find more information about the denomination of banknotes and coins.

The button representing a printer in the bottom left corner allows to print a summary of the whole
accounting: in the print you will visualize the serial number of the machine, all the accounting data
seen on the screen and the actual date.

Pushing the red button with the white X (“Delete”) for more than 5 seconds, the accounting will be
reset.

Pushing the button with the icon of a magnifying glass at the right bottom of the screen, it opens a
window containing a summary of the accounting data opens:

• Total IN: (Tot banknotes in) + (Tot coins in) + (Tot ticket in)
• Total OUT: (Tot banknotes out) + (Tot coins out) + (Tot ticket out)

Pushing the “Manual Payment” button, the operator can delete the current customer credit.
It will be operator duty to manually pay the deleted amount to the customer.
This function can be very useful if the machine has a remaining credit that cannot be currently paid
out, for example because there are no fitting coins in the machine.

12.2 Operator withdrawal

The withdrawal function, in those machine where it is available, allows the authorized operator to
withdraw cash, up to a predefined maximum value, from the machine.

The available options on this tab varies depending on the operator that is using it.

Admin operator can set a withdrawal limit for herself and for all the other operators, using + and –
buttons of the New Limit box and confirming the value pressing the green check button.
The other operators are not allowed to modify withdrawal limits.

Every time an operator performs a withdrawal, her limit decreases of the same withdrawn value.
Once the 0 limit value is reached, the operator could not ask for further withdrawals, until the admin
operator will set a new limit for that specific operator.

Pressing the up arrows the amount of cash that will be requested for the withdraw operation is
increased, pressing the up arrows the amount of cash that will be requested for the withdraw
operation is decreased (increasing/decreasing step is 5 Euro).

The amount to withdraw can also be modified manually: pressing the pencil icon a virtual numeric
pad will be shown. This will allow to digit the exact amount to withdraw.

Version 2.2 11/04/2017 PAG 23/51

Once the amount to withdraw is set, it is possible to choose one of the following dispensing options:

• Mixed notes: the machine dispense the requested value in notes, choosing them
automatically.

• Hoppers: if the machine is equipped with single coin hoppers, the operator select the desired
coin type and the requested value will be dispensed using just coins of this type, when
available. If the machine is equipped by Smart Hoppers, the operator is not allowed to select
a specific coin type and the hopper will choose automatically the coin types to dispense.

• JCM: the operator selects one of the note type present in the JCM recycler and the
dispensing will be completed using that type of note, if possible.

• Fujitsu: the operator selects one of the note type present in the FUJITSU F53 dispenser and the
dispensing will be completed using that type of note, if possible.

Once the desired type of coin/note is selected and the corresponding Withdraw button is pressed, or
the Mixed banknotes is pressed, a pop up asking to type the reason for which the withdrawal is
being required is shown.
Only when the message is confirmed by pressing the Return button the dispensing starts. If no
message is entered, the requested value is not dispensed.

The Print button permits to print the list of the last withdrawals. Data, operator, value and typed
reason are printed for each withdrawal.

12.3 Hopper configuration

This page functions can be used to configure the coin dispensers.

Plus Change can be equipped with different hoppers depending on the user needs.
The major difference, detailed in this manual, is in using a single coin belt ccTalk hopper or a
discriminator Smart Hopper.
For the two types of hopper, two different configuration menus are available.

12.3.1 Single coin Hopper

Coin value choice

The user can set a specific coin value for each hopper, using the drop down menu Hopper 1, Hopper
2 and Hopper 3.
Pushing on each drop down menu it is shown the list of all the coin values available for the
corresponding hopper. Once the desired value is selected it can be confirmed pressing on the green
check button Confirm.
The hopper coin values can be modified only when hoppers are completely empty, otherwise an error
message sill be shown on the screen.

V.N.E. S.r.l * 55047 Querceta (LU) * Via Biagioni 371 * Tel. 0584 742530 *
www.vne.it
Version 2.2 11/04/2017 PAG 25/51

ATTENTION: more hoppers can be configured with the same coin value, in this case the dispensing
will start from the most left hopper (hopper 1 before hopper 2) and will continue/start from hopper 2
only when hopper 1 can not dispense the whole value.
The same criterion is applied during the refill through the coin counting group.

Manual refill

Hopper coin refill can be performed using the counting group (automatic refill) when it is available,
as described in paragraph 12.7), otherwise hopper can be refilled manually (manual refill).
The number of coins inserted manually into the hoppers can be saved using the proper menu: each
hopper coin amount can be modified using + and – icons, or typing the exact quantity using the
numeric keypad that will appear pressing the pencil icon button.
To make the changes be effective, the underlying green check Confirm must be pressed.

ATTENTION: depending on the machine model, it is possible to have more or less of 3 hoppers;
however the menu functions are used in the exact same way described above.

Full Check

This option permits to decide whether to enable the full level control photocells that determines the
maximum level of coins in each hopper.
When the choice is YES the control is on and coins exceeding the full level, that is the upper level
edge of the hopper, are refused by the counting/validating system.
When the choice is NO the control is ignored and the capable metallic extensions becomes the
maximum containing limit.

We strongly suggest to choose YES.

Empty Check

This option permits to decide whether to check the empty level control photocells before starting a
coin payment.
This empty threshold is a hardware check of belt hoppers, that is triggered by a physical sensor on
the metal conductivity of the hopper itself.

When the choice is YES, the machine checks the empty level before starting a payment or accepting
a bet, to be sure that there are enough coins inside the hopper.
The empty threshold depends on the type of coins: for 2 Euro coins it’s approximately 50 coins; for
lower denomination coins the threshold will be higher.

When the choice is NO, the machine does not check the empty level and it only checks the value of
“number of coins inside" (written by operators and updated during automatic refills and payments).
Obviously in this case the operator takes all the responsibility for a proper behaviour of the hopper,
because the hopper itself will not check if it physically has coins inside.

12.3.2 Smart Hopper

Discriminator hoppers Smart Hopper can manage (depending on its type) up to 8 different coin
denomination at the same time.
Every Smart Hopper has its own configuration tab (Smart Hopper 1, Smart Hopper 2, Smart
Hopper 3), as shown in the following screenshot.

The list of denominations supported by the Smart Hopper is represented on the left of the tab.

The field “Quantity” reports the number of coins of each denomination that is inside the hopper.

Hopper coin refill can be performed using the counting group (automatic refill) when it is available,
as described in paragraph 12.7), otherwise hopper can be refilled manually (manual refill).

To manually refill the Smart Hopper you need to physically insert the coins in the hopper and then
manually modify the corresponding quantity by pressing on the text field where that quantity is
reported.
A new popup with a numeric keyboard will appear; using that keyboard insert the number of coins
of that denomination currently into the hopper, then confirm it by pressing the Return button.

ATTENTION: it is very important to digit the right amount of coins; otherwise the smart
hopper will not work properly.
Please remember NOT to digit the number of coins added, but the total number of coins
ACTUALLY contained in the hopper.

www.vne.it
Version 2.2 11/04/2017 PAG 27/51

The field “Recycle” specifies if that denomination of coins is used by the hopper:

• if “Yes” is selected it means that the hopper will pay with that denomination
• if “No” is selected it means that the hopper do not use that denomination for paying

ATTENTION: if “Recycle” is set to “No” for a denomination, the coin acceptor will not sort that
type of denomination into this Smart Hopper

To save the changes on the Quantity levels or on the Recycle configuration press the Confirm green
button on the right of the screen.
To undo the last unsaved changes press the red button.

ATTENTION: For a correct use of the machine, it is needed to configure the three smart hoppers
in a proper way.

Smart Hopper 1 must recycle the higher denominations of coins, while Smart Hopper 3 must
recycle the lower ones. Take a look at the following examples:

correct configuration example:

• Smart Hopper 1: recycle 2 Euro, 1 Euro
• Smart Hopper 2: recycle 1 Euro, 50 cents
• Smart Hopper 3: recycle 20 cents, 10 cents, 5 cents, 2 cents

wrong configuration example:

• Smart Hopper 1: recycle 20 cents, 10 cents, 5 cents, 2 cents
• Smart Hopper 2: recycle 1 Euro, 50 cents
• Smart Hopper 3: recycle 2 Euro, 1 Euro

Furthermore each smart hopper has to recycle “contiguous” denomination of coins.

wrong configuration example:

• Smart Hopper 1: recycle 2 Euro, 20 cents
• Smart Hopper 2: recycle 1 Euro, 50 cents
• Smart Hopper 3: recycle 10 cents, 5 cents, 2 cents

In this case the configuration is wrong because the Smart Hopper 1 is recycling 2 Euro coins and 20
cents coins: those two denominations are not contiguous and that fact can create problems to the
payment routine.
If you want to payout 20 cent coins, you need to add those denomination to the ones recycled by
Smart Hopper 2 or Smart Hopper 3.

correct configuration example:

• Smart Hopper 1: recycle 2 Euro, 1 Euro
• Smart Hopper 2: recycle 1 Euro, 50 cents
• Smart Hopper 3: recycle 20 cents, 10 cents, 5 cents, 2 cents

alternative correct configuration example:

• Smart Hopper 1: recycle 2 Euro, 1 Euro
• Smart Hopper 2: recycle 1 Euro, 50 cents, 20 cents
• Smart Hopper 3: recycle 10 cents, 5 cents, 2 cents

Version 2.2 11/04/2017 PAG 28/51

ATTENTION: If the same denomination is set in more than one hopper (as it is the 1 Euro
denomination in the example above), coins of that denomination will be inserted by the coin
acceptor in the leftmost hopper.
When the leftmost hopper is full, the coin acceptor will switch to the next hopper that supports the
denomination.

ATTENTION: the third hopper (Smart Hopper 3), depending on the model, can manage the 1 cent
coins.
Smart Hopper manages 1 cent coins in a different way: if the hopper realized that there are too many
1 cent coins compared with the coins of other denominations, during the payout it throws into the
cashbox below the exceeding 1 cent coins.
This behaviour happens where the number of 1 cent coins exceeds 15% of the total coins into the
hopper.

12.4 Recycler

Using the functions of this page it is possible to configure the JCM iPRO recycler, when supported.

Recycled Banknotes

JCM recycler can accept all denominations of banknotes and recycle two of them.
The selected denominations are divided in two different cassettes, and each cassette can contain up to
100 notes.
Clicking and scrolling on the “Cassette 1” and “Cassette 2” icons, it's possible to select the two
denominations that you want to recycle.
Clicking on the selection box, a drop down menu shows the list of all the JCM iPRO banknote values
that can be selected.
The choice can then be confirmed of deleted using the buttons Confirm-Delete at the bottom of the
screen.

When the recycling cassette is not completely empty, its value can not be changed and an error
message will be shown.

ATTENTION: when the banknote value of a recycling cassette is changed, the spacers contained in
that cassette MUST be physically changed, using the selected banknote value suitable ones.
Further information on the spacer changing can be found in the JCM iPRO manual.

Balanced Algorithm

The Balanced Algorithm option allows to choose the criterion used for dispensing banknotes from
the JCM.
When the option is set to YES, the recycler starts paying using the banknote value type whose
number of pieces is higher.
When the option is set to NO, the recycler starts paying using the banknotes having the highest value.
We suggest to keep this option to NO.

Cassette minimum levels

As previously said, the JCM iPRO recycler handle two different types of banknote in two different
recycling cassettes.
The minimum level is the number of notes that will remain in a cassette after a partial emptying
operation is performed.
Further details are given in the following paragraph in the tab Empty section.

JCM manual refill

The best way to perform CM recycling cassette refill is to follow the automatic refill procedure that
is explained in paragraph 12.7.
The JCM refill can be performed also manually. To perform the manual refill the central part of the
JCM recycler must be opened and a bunch of banknotes must be inserted into the cassettes.
Banknotes in each cassettes must be of the same type and not exceed 100 pieces.
The upper recycling cassette is Cassette 1 and the lower recycling cassette is Cassette 2.

Once the banknotes are physically inserted into the JCM cassettes, their number must be configured
using the JCM manual refill menu. Using the “+” and “-” icons the content of the two cassettes
(Cassette 1 and Cassette 2) can be increased or decreased.
To make the changes be effective it is necessary to press the green check button Confirm that is to
the right.

ATTENTION: further information concerning JCM recycling cassette manual refill and spacer
substitution, in case of cassette banknote value change, refers to JCM iPRO manual.

ATTENTION: the manual refill operation can be used also to empty the JCM. In this case the
banknotes must be physically removed from the cassettes and the corresponding banknote quantity
must be set to 0 from the menu. We suggest to empty the JCM using the corresponding command as
explained in next paragraph.

ATTENTION: the acceptance of different banknote types can be inhibited using the dip switches
located under the banknote feeder.
When the dip switch is in the “high” position ON the acceptance of the corresponding banknote type
is disabled, vice versa, when the dip switch is in “low” position OFF, the acceptance of the
corresponding banknote type is enabled.
The dip switches and banknote types correspondence table is the following (the dip switches
numbers are from left to right):

• dip switch 1: 5 €
• dip switch 2: 10 €
• dip switch 3: 20 €
• dip switch 4: 50 €
• dip switch 5: 100 €
• dip switch 6: 200 €
• dip switch 7: 500 €

12.5 Empty

Using the functions of this page it is possible to empty the hoppers, the JCM recycler, perform
electronic opening of the machine, print a list of operations and turn off or restart the machine.

JCM Cassettes

Using the emptying operation, the JCM recycler unloads to its stacker the notes stored into its
recycler cassettes.
Pressing the Total button, all notes into the recycling cassette will be unloaded to the stacker.
Pressing the Partial button, the notes still will be put into the stacker but the operation will finish as
soon as the level in each cassette reaches the Minimum Level set in the Recycler menu (see previous
paragraph).

Hoppers

Hopper emptying can be done pushing the correspondent button for each hopper. The selected
hopper will be completely emptied.
At the bottom of the screen it will be visualized the denomination of the coins dispensed, the quantity
and the corresponding total value.

In case of Smart Hopper, the coins are emptied in metal cashbox installed below the hopper itself; the
total content in Euro of this cashbox is reported in the Empty tab under the voice Smart Cashbox.
Once the cashbox has been physically emptied, it is needed to rest the Smart Cashbox counter by
pressing the Empty button below.

Opening

One of the most important feature of “Plus Change” is the electronic timer opening.
The use of “Plus Change” requests criteria of high security against attempts of burglary or robbery.
The solutions which have been taken satisfy those criteria and that's why this machine is a secure
instrument necessary for the new requirements of the gaming market.

Once the main door is closed with the double map safety lock, a blocking system does not allow to
open the door unless you use this menu.
To unlock the mechanism and activate the opening function through the security keys, it is necessary
to push the button “Open”. The timer countdown starts and once it is ended the mechanism
unblocks, thus allowing the opening of the door.
It is possible to set/modify the opening time from 0 to 60 minutes by browsing on “Timer” and
pushing “Confirm”; the operation can be done just within the 30 seconds following the opening
request, then the green button “Confirm” becomes grey and inhibits. The operation can be done
again just after a new timer opening.

Operations

Each operation is stored with the informations about the date, the hour and the operator that
performed it.
Pressing the printing buttons “Print Opening”, “Print Transactions”, “Print Operations” it is
possible to have a print of one of the three functions.
The openings print contains the list of the last openings performed, specifying date and time of each
opening and the operator who did it.
The transactions print contains the list of the last money transactions, specifying date, hour, type and
amount of each transaction.
The operations print contains the list of the different operation performed on the machine, specifying
date, hour, operator and the operation type (hopper emptying, accounting reset, configuration
changes...).
Each print also reports the serial number of the machine and the printing date and time.

Turn off/Restart

On the right corner of the tab, there are two buttons.

The most left is Turn Off and it permits to turn off the machine completely.
After a pressure of at least 5 seconds, first the software is closed, then the PC board is turned off.
After another 60 seconds the peripheral power is disabled and the machine is completely turned off.

The most right button is Restart. It is used to restart only the software of the machine.
After a pressure of at least 5 seconds the PC board reboot is performed.
In this case the peripheral power is never disabled.

12.8 Fujitsu

The F53 Fujitsu Note Dispenser has five cassettes which can contain about 500 pieces each; the
value of the banknote to dispense is set in the same cassette.
The value of banknotes contained in each cassette must be configured physically in the cassette.
The operation is done to change the position of the magnets contained in proper cassette slots, to
obtain the desired value configuration as described in the picture placed inside each cassette and in
the Fujitsu F53 usage manual.
Configuration and note value corresponding table for the Plus Change is the following:

Configuration A: 5€
Configuration B: 10€
Configuration C: 20€
Configuration D: 50€
Configuration E: 100€
Configuration F: 200€

ATTENTION: when a cassette value is changed, after having moved the cassette magnet, also the
position of the side and bottom spacer inside the cassette must be modified. See Fujitsu F53 manual
for further details.

The position of the cassette into the F53 is not determinant, as the system identify the value
automatically reading the magnets configuration.
Once the cassette set up has been done, it is possible to check on the screen if the set values are really
the desired ones.
To recharge the banknotes, remove the cassette pushing the green button in the bottom right corner of

the cassette, open it and insert the banknotes being sure that there are not damaged ones.
Use the figures inside the cassette for a correct positioning.

For a correct working of the whole machine, it is absolutely necessary to insert the number of
banknotes for each cassette.
Through the up/down arrows that you find in the Fujitsu tab, it is possible to increase/decrease the
number of banknotes: the value, expressed in Euro, automatically increases/decreases at the side of
the sign “total”.
The banknote number in each cassette can be inserted also pressing the pencil icon button and using
the numeric keypad that will be shown on the screen.
Pushing the “Confirm” button, the inserted values are stored and the manual refill operation is
completed.

ATTENTION: it is absolutely necessary to reinsert the correct number of banknotes each time
a cassette is removed and put again in the F53, since each cassette removal cause the cassette
value to be set to 0.

The same tab can be used also to check status and content of F53.
When an error concerning the banknote dispenser occurs, it is shown on the upper part of the screen
together with the specific error code.
It is possible to check the note type, the note number, the total in Euro and the current status (ok or
error) of each cassette.
The example in the screenshot shows that Cassette 1 is working correctly and contains 3 banknotes
whose value is 10 Euros and the total is 30 Euros.

The Bin value is the total number of banknotes currently contained in the reject bin.
The F53 dispenser can reject banknotes for different reasons, as far as damaged, unknown or inserted
into the wrong cassette notes.
When the reject bin is emptied manually, its value must be set to zero by pressing the Cancel red x
button.

ATTENTION: in case of note jam in the Fujitsu F53 transport belt, the software asks for a full
restart of the machine to solve the problem. The restart will cause all the Fujitsu F53 jammed
banknotes to be put out, in order to free any obstruction.
This operation IS NOT ACCOUNTED since it is not a dispensing and it is a dispenser internal
service routine. Those banknotes are not part of the payment

The Coin Acc tab is used to configure which denominations of coin the coin acceptor can accept.

This tab is present only in the machine models that supports a coin cashbox or the Smart Hoppers.
In case of single coin hoppers, only the coin denomination configured into the hoppers are
automatically enabled.

In the upper part of the screen the status of the coin acceptor is reported: ok if everything is working
well, in case of problems is shown the error code.

For each denomination supported by the coin acceptor there is a spin box.
Selecting “Yes” the coin acceptor will accept that denomination and put it in the right smart hopper.
If “No” is selected that denomination will be always rejected.

ATTENTION: if a certain denomination is set to “Yes” in the coin acceptor menu, but there are no
Smart Hoppers that recycle that denomination, coins of that denomination will be rejected.
