Purpose

“Let’s learn the present perfect through wordcards and quiz to


write a short dialogue and express in class.”

III. Each team will try to order the sentences according de word cards.
IV. Each team sticks the word cards on the board.

What’s the difference?

The past simple is used to express finished events, while the


present perfect is used to express finished events that started
and the past and continued to the present.
Where have you been?
The present perfect tense is used to describe an action that has
taken place in the past but has a connection with the present.
We don’t specify the exact time that the action had taken place
when using this tense.

• If it ends in "y" and a consonant antecedent, we
eliminate the "y" and add "ied".

Uses
1 The present perfect is used to describe an
experience. We don't use it for specific actions.
Example
I have never flown in a plane.
Uses
2 The present perfect is used for a change in time.

Example
Their English has improved a lot this year.
Uses
The present perfect is used for successes or
3 achievements.

Example
Our football team has won the championship
three times in the anniversary.
Uses
The present perfect is used to talk about actions at different
4 times in the past. Using the present perfect in these cases
indicates that more actions are possible in the future.
Example
I love Kuelap! I have been there 3 times
already and I can’t wait to go back.
We are going to develop a quiz with the
same teams.

INSTRUCTIONS

- We are going to share a link.


- The students in groups start playing the quiz.
