Robots are not new. As long ago as 400 BC, the philosopher and mathematician Archytus built a

The photo shows a chinese family eating with their daughter, showing frustration and disagreement.

2. What do you think is the problem with the girl?

I see the problem with the girl is the disagreement with the family

3. Is this situation familiar to you?

This situation is familiar to me when I was a child and I disagreed and angry with my parents.

2. Discuss what you know about modern-day China. Then read the article. Did you learn anything new?

I learned that in modern-day China children now select the “right” brands, teach their parents the latest slang,

follow popular trends, are more independent and disagree with parents.

areas.

 Caring for the old

Old China: The children always cared of elderly.

New China: Family puts elderly in a nursing home.

 The relationship between parents and children

Old China: They agree with parents, didn’t disobey and listened.

New China: The children disobey, are disagree with parents and misbehave.

 Standard of living and shopping

Old China: There wasn’t much to select.

New China: Popular and quality brands are carefully selected.

 Experience and knowledge of the world

Old China: Little experience and knowledge of the outside world.

New China: Learn more about outside word than before

4. How difficult do you think the different generations (Bella’s and her parents) find the changes you discussed

in Exercise 3? Give reasons.
