Simulated Post Weld Heat Treatment for
Mechanical test coupon. (*) Note: Each PWHT cycle shall considered as seperate heating, holding & cooling curve. Prolonging the holding time (4 x holding time per cycle) is not acceptable.
a) Test report shall record the simulated PWHT condition such as heating rate, holding time at temperature, cooling rate etc.
b) All the mechanical tests as per material specification, impact, hardness, etc as mentioned above shall be carried out on simulated coupons under two following
conditions.
- Min. pwht cycle (60 minutes x 1 cycle)
- Max pwht cycles (60 minutes x 4 cycle) (*)

2. All mechanical tests shall be done on simulated test coupons as per above SPWHT cycle.
3. Maximum tensile strength limit (Rm) value of the material shall not exceed the specified minimum (Rm) specification by more that 100 Mpa.
4. All mechanical tests shall be performed as per code.

6. Test coupons shall be taken as per ASME material specification & 32-SAMSS-004 as per below.

7. Test coupons shall be taken from each plate transverse to the rolling direction in accordance with SA20 at standard test location as per below.
a) For Plates thickness less than or equal to 20 mm: Specimen shall be taken at a depth of 1/2T as per 32-SAMSS-004 as well as Full T as per SA-20.
b) For Plates thickness greater than 20 mm: Specimen shall be taken at a depth of 1/2T as per 32-SAMSS-004 as well as 1/4 T or Full T as per SA-20.

Hardness 1. As per ASME SEC. II PART A, 2021 ED

Tolerance 2. Plates shall have only positive tolerances.
3. Under tolerance in thickness is NOT acceptable.

1. All 919requirements shall be as Per ASME SEC. II PART A, 2021 ED, SA20 & 32-SAMSS-004.
2. All plates with thickness more than and including 50 mm shall be ultrasonically examined (100% SURFACE) in accordance with ASTM SA578. Acceptance criteria
shall be Level C of SA-578. Prepared by Reviewed by Reviewed by Approved by
NDE 3. All plate thickness more than 12.5 mm & less than 50 mm shall be ultrasonically examined by the vessel manufacturer in accordance with ASME SA-435. Any
area where one or more discontinuities produce a continuous total loss of back reflection accompanied by continuous indications on the same pane (within 5% of
the plate thickness) that cannot be encompassed within a 25 mm diameter circle is unacceptable.
4. In case of stockiest purchased plates UT of plates shall be performed by AZ as applicable in accordance with thickness as mentioned above

HIC Test N/A

1. Material certified as per as per ASME SEC. II PART A, 2021 ED.


2. Certified material test certificate (in English) shall be as per EN 10204, TYPE CL.3.1.
Test Report / Cetificatation 3. All materials must be clearly identified and provided with legible original or certified true copies of mill test certificates (MTC).
Lack of adequate identification and certification shall be cause for rejection.
4. Identification stamping should be done using low stress stamp.

Requirements
1. Any deviation from the specification shall be approved by Al Zamil engineering in written prior to ordering the material.
2. Material shall be procured from Saudi Aramco approved supplier or manufacturer.
Additional / 3. Material shall be free from defects, pitting marks, other damages etc.
Special Requirement 4. No welding repair is allowed.
5. No rimmed or capped steel shall be used.

1. Packed suitably in order to avoid any damages while shipping & handling.

2. All other shipping procedures shall be as per standard practice for international shipping.
