II. Background Rationale:
Teachers play a vital role in curriculum development as they bring expertise, experience and
knowledge of their learners to shape the curriculum. It is also the teachers who have the most important
role in curriculum implementation.
Applying knowledge of content within and across curriculum teaching areas is essential for
promoting a holistic understanding of concepts and preparing learners to a more comprehensive and
interconnected understanding of the world.
Teachers need to understand the subject matter deeply and flexibly so they can help the students
create connections between ideas. It is critical for teachers to use their knowledge about best practice
methods to ensure all learners are given the best possible opportunities to be successful. It will also help
the learners equips with skills needed for collaboration and adaptability in the real world.
III. Project Objectives:

The training activity aims to:
a. equip teachers the necessary knowledge and skills to integrate content knowledge within
and across subject curriculum teaching areas
b. understand how applying knowledge of pedagogical content within and across curriculum
help learners relate one idea to another;

a. Deepened understanding of teachers on how to help learners create connections between ideas to
real world.
b. Planned appropriate pedagogical content knowledge that has more impact on learners’ achievement
c. Used appropriate and effective strategies that are responsive to applying teaching within and across
curriculum teaching areas

VII. Methodology
The following are the steps in the conduct of the program:
1. Preparation of the list of participants in the SCHOOL-BASED IN-SERVICE TRAINING ON
APPLYING KNOWLEDGE OF CONTENT WITHIN AND ACROSS CURRICULUM
TEACHING AREAS. Preparation of school training matrix/design, school memorandum,
attendance, program and evaluation form.
2. Conduct of the training (orientation/ discussion/workshop)
3. Application of the knowledge and skills acquired through the training.

AND ACROSS CURRICULUM TEACHING AREAS
In view of the human resource development program, which is an integral part of Training
and Development, activities shall be integrated in the existing education development plans, thus
all activities shall be strictly based on identified priority needs of the target personnel. Anent to this,
and as transpired from SAT RPMS for TI-TIII SY 2023-2024, this office announces the conduct of
the SCHOOL-BASED IN-SERVICE TRAINING ON APPLYING KNOWLEDGE OF CONTENT
WITHIN AND ACROSS CURRICULUM TEACHING AREAS on JANUARY 24, 2024, 8:00 am-
5:00 pm at Sto. Domingo Elementary School, District of Minalin, Sto. Domingo, Minalin, Pampanga.
1. The training activity aims to:
a. equip teachers the necessary knowledge and skills to integrate content knowledge
within and across subject curriculum teaching areas
b. understand how applying knowledge pedagogical content within and across
curriculum help learners relate one idea to another;
c. develop flexibility in instructional approaches to go beyond tradition subject
boundaries.
2. All teachers are being requested to participate in the above-mentioned school endeavor.
3. To ensure the quality and efficiency of the training, participants shall observe the following:
a. observe professional ethics on punctuality
b. participate in the discussion/activities; and
c. observe proper decorum throughout the duration of the training.
4. No registration fee will be collected from each participant.

5. Enclosed herewith are the Activity Matrix and Program.
6. Immediate and wide dissemination of this Memorandum is earnestly desired.
