JUAN PAGDANGANAN MEMORIAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Objectives:
* To enhance the fundamental, social, and other necessary abilities required to carry out
the goals of the basic education program.
* The main objective of the Catch-Up Friday program was to give Grade 1 Pupils an
engaging and immersive learning environment that would ignite their passion for
language acquisition.
Narrative Report:
The Marungko technique was used in the initial section of the program to reinforce the
learners' grasp of letter sounds. The goal of several of the activities was to get the pupils
to identify and make letter sounds. Songs, interactive activities, and visual aids all
improved the learning process and made it more pleasurable for the Grade 1 learners.
Task 2:
Reading syllables was the second task, which served to further emphasize the recently introduced
letters and sounds. The Marungko method, which emphasizes the mixing of sounds to generate
syllables, was routinely used. To make sure every learner understood the phonetic concept, the
teacher gave each pupils personalized attention if they needed it.
Task 3:
The last task was designed to meet the needs of students who had trouble reading syllables.
During a group reading session, these pupils were able to collaborate and gain support from their
classmates. They use some syllables to make words. The cooperative method increased
confidence in those who struggled with particular syllables and promoted a sense of cooperation.
