Core Subject Description: The course aims to help students develop their knowledge in the different literary pieces in Asia and in the Philippines. They will be exposed to various
genres of literary texts. They will be asked to read and reflect on the pieces that will be given to them. Moreover, this course also includes series of topics in
grammar for their holistic learning in the English language in general. As a whole, this course provides a general learning in communication and arts.
The program offers students the opportunity to hone their critical thinking and writing abilities, integrating these with media-production skills, in preparation
for rewarding careers and enriched lives in a rapidly changing world.
Culminating Performance Standard: The learner transfers learning by composing and delivering an informative speech based on a specific topic of interest keeping in mind the
proper and effective use of parallel structures and cohesive devices and appropriate prosodic features, stance, and behavior.
Power Standard: Understanding of communication and appreciation of the different literary texts from Asia and Philippines.
