Tribute to Teachers

II. Theme:

"A Call for Teachers"

III. Rationale

According to UNESCO, World Teachers' Day represents a significant

token of the awareness, understanding and appreciation displayed for the
vital contribution that teachers make to education and development.
Education International (EI), the global union federation that represents
education professionals worldwide, strongly believes that World Teachers'
Day should be internationally recognized and celebrated around the world.

A teacher or schoolteacher is a person who provides education for

pupils (children) and students (adults). In many countries, a person who
wishes to become a teacher must first obtain specified professional
qualifications or credentials from a university or college. Education in its
broadest, general sense is the means through which the aims and habits of a
group of people lives on from one generation to the next.

IV. Program Goal

It is foreseen that at the end of the activity, the participants are

expected to:
a. establish a sense of gratitude towards their teachers;
b. develop camaraderie among students and teachers;
c. further appreciate their chosen profession;
d. inspire future educators on becoming teachers.

V. Program Description

This is a two-hour activity composed of series of human dynamic activities

designed to strengthen the relationship among students and teachers. The
program is scheduled on September 27, 2013 at exactly 3:00 to 5:00 pm in this
