Onward BANISILAN! Hi! I am KENTH Wilfred C. Capanang. Today, we will talk about the local customs in the land of Golden Sunsets in SOCCSKSARGEN, Banisilan No h Cotabato. (Read the About in pamphlet).... My kind of community is somewhat a progressive semi urban province consist of 17 municipality and living in a rural type with 20 barangays. According to 2020 census, 46, 995 people lived in Banisilan, they were so called “Banisilanons” a Hilagaynons speci cally Ilonggos/ Ilonggas. Banisilan is a large agricultural area devoted to agri- production, producing resources. This resources includes CORN which is one of the most widely distributed of the world's food crops; RUBBER which is a fast growing upright tropical tree crop which is mainly cultivated for its production of latex; FRUIT BEARING TREES such as coconut trees; PALM OIL that surpassed rubber as malaysia's main commodity crop. Unlike di erent crops, the palm oil produces 2 di erent types of vegetable oil from the same fruit. Even though it was a rural type municipality, we also have some known wonders in this city of golden sunsets that captures the impo ance of our nature. First, our Malitubog River were Banisil was found before. It is a river which is one of the tributaries of the Marudgao River in Mindanao, the Malitubog- Maridugao river irrigation system suppo s about 5.500 hectares of rice elds within ARMM. Next, we have our Enchanting Malagap underground which is a big help in lifting the economy in the entire province. But, unfo unately, LGU- Banisilan prohibis going to tourist spots in the town in accordance with the directive of the National Inter-Agency task Force on Covid-19. Lastly, we have our ve own Mt. Opao which was discovered during pandemic located between Banisilan and Alamada having a natural grown tress and a cold spring pe ect for some picnics and sleepovers. In our municipality, we have some known establishments such as: our Saint Joseph Parish church, Banisilan Central Elementa School, Banisilan National High School for Junior and Senior high students, Banisilan Municipal Hall, Banisilan Poblacion 1 and 2 Center, and our municipal gymnasium, grandstand and plaza. And Yes, we don’t have any malls but we do have wet market for cheaper and more fresh products mostly came from farms and gardens. Dive into the hea of our community with our local customs products, wonders, establishments, and many more. Immerse yourself in the richness of our traditions. This is an invitation to connect with the soul of our culture. That’s all for today, my small vi ual tour in the City of Golden Sunset, Banisilan, No h Citabato, I hope you guys appreciated the beauty of our Province. UMWAD BANISILAN. Madamo gid nga Salamat!
