5. Beatrix collects a Lego collection every month. The number of Lego collections he collects
increase every month according to geometric progression. His total Lego collection in the first four
months was ten times his total Lego collection in the first two months. Find the positive value of
common ratio. [5]

(b) A salesman has 1 200 calculators to be divided into n bags. He put 30 calculators in the
first bag and for each subsequent bag, he put 30 calculators more than the previous bag. He

same manner. Calculate the number of calculators that are left behind.
