7.2 Unit addressing

Single Connection OFF/OFF is for single indoor unit

Multi Connection ON/ON, ON/OFF, OFF/ON are for multi

indoor units with different fixed addresses

Table 7-2
SW2-1 SW2-2 Addressing

OFF OFF automatic addressing One outdoor unit, one indoor unit
OFF ON Address 10 (fix) One outdoor unit, several indoor units
ON ON Address 20 (fix) One outdoor unit, several indoor units
ON OFF Address 15 (fix) One outdoor unit, several indoor units

Single Connection means that only one VRF-AHU Kit and no other indoor units are installed in
one system.

Multi Connection means that more than two indoor units are integrated in a VRF system.
Therefore, 1 to max. 3 VRF-AHU Kits as well as one or more Systemair VRF internal devices
SYSVRF could be integrated. The outdoor unit cannot be set up for automatic address
assignment. You have to set up an individual device address for each VRF-AHU Kit and each
indoor unit first by using the local remote control.

(1) Maximum 3 VRF-AHU Kits can be integrated in one system.

(2) Each VRF-AHU Kit must be assigned an address. The number of virtual addresses is
selected by the VRF-AHU Kit depending on the rated power set at ENC1. If a virtual
address is assigned in the system, it cannot be assigned to a real indoor unit in the same
system. Table 7-1 shows the variants of how virtual addresses are assigned.

Example:
Two VRF-AHU Kits are connected in one system. The first one has a nominal power of 56 kW.
The switch ENC1 hast to be set to „D“ - 4 virtual addresses are assigned to the VRF-AHU Kit.
Now, on switch SW 2 a fixed address has to be selected. For example SW2-1: OFF, SW2-2:
ON (Address 10 (fix)).

SW2-1 SW2-2 Addressing

OFF ON Address 10 (fix) One outdoor unit, several indoor units

The addresses 10, 11, 12 and 13 are automatically assigned to the VRF-AHU Kit. For the
second VRF-AHU Kit, ENC1 has also to be set for the power. The setting of the DIP switch
needs to be selected differently from the first VRF-AHU Kit. Address 15 or 20.

18
(3) A maximum number of indoor units may be connected to each outdoor unit, depending on
the respective outdoor unit. The calculation also needs to include the virtual indoor units. A
controller box with the nominal power "D" (56 kW), a real address and four virtual
addresses is recognized by the outdoor unit as four indoor units.

(4) An integration of the VRF-AHU Kit in a central control (superordinate control) via X, Y, E
bus into the system is not possible.

(5) Before switch on the VRF-AHU Kits for the first time, the system addresses for other
indoor units must be set with the remote control. The setting range is between 0 and 63.
Device addresses must not be repeated within the same system.

Note
For further information on addressing, refer to the operating instructions of the respective
outdoor units and remote controls.

8 Operation and Error codes

E1 Communication error with outdoor unit.
E2 Temperature sensor T2 error.
E3 Temperature sensor T2B error.
Ed Error temperature sensor outdoor unit or errror outdoor unit. Check error code of the
outdoor unit.
dF Unit is in defrost mode.
