CHAPTER 3: Recruitment and selection

GREETING:

Hello, everybody comes of you the best greeting among Muslims peace of Allah be upon
you. Today, we present recruitment and selection. Myself I will explain one part of party 1
and the second part will be explained by Saleh, my friend Abdillahi will explain one part of
party 2 ,my other friend Abdifatah will explain the rest of party 2.Finally, Safa will explain
the party 3.Therefore, I start what is recruitment and selection.

Recruitment is the task and process of identifying, vetting and hiring the best possible
candidates for open positions in the organization and selection means the process of
choosing the most suitable candidate for the vacant position in the organization.

Party 1: Recruitment

Recruitment is an English British word. In addition, the American English word, they say hire.
A recruit is the term used to describe someone who has been hired or recruited when a
company may recruit employees, the company can do it directly, it means that it doesn’t
need a placement agency and do it itself. Or the company can do it by using outside
recruiters: recruitment agencies or employment agencies. Which it looks the best candidate
for the company and the company will pay a sum of money to the employment agencies
when a company wants to recruit an important person for example, CEO, it’s called a
headhunter .Headhunters refer to a person or expert at finding talented and excellent
people for an important position in the organization. For example, the company Coubeche
look for human resources so the company will call a headhunter to find talented human
resources. So the headhunter will look for and when he will find, he will recruit him. And
another example, Djibouti telecom wants to recruit an excellent computer scientist who
work in EDD. Therefore, the headhunter will influence this person to come work in Djibouti
Telecom. Maybe the headhunter can influence him by increasing his salary.

Party 2: Applying for a job

Applying for a job is the process by which individuals express their interest and formally
request consideration for employment with a particular organization
For example, as Fred, he is tiring about his job, so he looks for another job situation vacant is
the part of the newspaper in which jobs one advertised.

In generally to apply for a job the applicant uses application forms are documents that
collects information from individuals who are applying for a job, program, service or any
other king of opportunities.
So here, we have Harry, which uses job website to look for a new job. So he completed CV is
essentially a document that provides a summary of the person's education work, experience,
skills and other relevant information and sending a covering letter that explain why you are
interested in this position.

Party 3: Selection procedure


The selection process can be described as the procedure of identifying and short listing
qualified people with the requisite qualifications and skill set to fill vacancies in the
company. So here, we will explain the process of selection:

 The first step, the company advertises in the newspaper and internet the vacant
position.
 The second step the company look the CV of the applicants. It means they look their
qualifications and their experience.
 The third step, the company invites the most interesting candidates to group
discussion.
 The fourth step the company organized individual interview with each candidate to
ask them a question or it can give written, psychometric tests to evaluate their
intelligence, their knowledge, skills and abilities the candidate possesses.
 The fifth step, the head of recruitment shortlist 2 or 3 candidates after that the
company checks their reference are a way to confirm the accuracy of what a
candidate has told you and your impression of them.
 If the reference is ok, the company organized others interviews.
 Finally, the company offers the job to someone.
