    Dear parent/guardian

    RE: End of term 1 communication 2024

    Greetings from Hillside S.S family:

    On behalf of hillside s.s fraternity and on my own behalf,I would like to thank you for all sorts of support
    extended to us that made us to sail through and successfully complete term 1 2024 which has official
    ended today Friday the 3rd ,05,24.

    In a special way, we thank the almighty god for the gift of life and made us go through this academic
    term.

    Curricular activities

    Teaching and learning was effectively and efficiently conducted in all classes

    Assessment of learners has been done through activities of integration and continuous assessment for

    “O” level and as “A” level the criterion curriculum

    A report card has been issued to every learner so carefully study it and guide and/or counsel him/her
    accordingly

    UNEB registration for s.4 and s.6 candidates is ongoing .parents/guardians are therefore urged to
    support their children to successfully register to avoid unnecessary penalties (surcharges)

    The learners are effectively using the installed school library hence a developed reading culture and self-
    research

    Discipline

    The discipline has been good except few cases where some students bleached the school rules and
    regulations and were firmly handled by the school disciplinary committee.in the event ,two students
    were expelled from school for unworthy and undesirable social behaviour and traits

    There are some students who smuggle phones to school .it is a bleach of the school rules and
    regulations and leads to discontinuation
    Students with funny haircuts, mini-skirts, piped pair of trousers, BIDCOs, slippers, jackets will not be
    allowed in school.

    Health

    Students health has been generally fair .headache, stomachache and flu were commonly registered
    students with health complication please notify the school administration for routine monitoring

    Note:

    Red eyes is now a health concern, once detected please take the necessary health precaution

    School fees structure

    The tuition charges remained constant .however the administration is grateful for those
    parents/guardians who clear the school fees to zero balance. We encourage those who do not play their
    significant role to commit themselves to fees payments .so as allow us to implement all the intended
    school programmes and routine activities

    Note:

    (i)Draft a payment schedule with the school administration

    ii) Fees balances shall be cleared in the 1st week of term 2 to reduce the burden

    Students’ welfare

    Learners are encouraged to feed from school to foster the afternoon routine activities .therefore
    parents/ guardians contribute 50000(fifty thousand shillings) for meals at school

    Parents/guardians, safeguard your children’s academic future by resisting them from rent in and around
    the trading Centre .it negatively impacts on our students’ behaviour and performance

    Therefore students are encouraged to stay in boarding for easy supervision and monitoring

    Other requirements

    2 reams of papers payable in an academic year .those who cleared, do not get bothered,

    Events

    National population census exercise from 10th-20th/05/24, please participate and respect it

    Mock examination for candidate classes (s.4and s.6) in July/august at a fee of 40000 (forty thousand
    shillings only)

    Study tour to Entebbe education research Centre at a fee of 50000(fifty thousand shillings) on 8 th, 06,
    2024
    Visitation day on 21st, July, 2024

    Agriculture show on 11th July 2024

    Note

    The school offices will remain open for consultation and inquiries

    Term 2 shall begin on 27th, 05, 2024 at 8:00am

    Conclusion

    Parents/guardians are cordially to encourage your children to spare some time to revise their books for
    content retention and comprehension
