This course explores the basic elements and principles of color, introducing color design for a range of visual
effects for multimedia projects. Topics include the development of color perception, expression, and application in
traditional and digital arts.
Curriculum Delivery: Freehand drawing. Color rendering. Critique. Drafting. Assigned Reading. Independent
Projects. Individual Consultation. Individual Presentation. Lecture demonstration. Problem-solving. Visually
guided learning. Writing reflections on learning.
IV. Learning Outcomes: At the end of the course the students should be able to:
A. KNOWLEDGE:
a. Explain the principles of color harmony and contrast in visual design.
b. Comprehend the psychological impact of color and its application in design psychology.
c. Exhibit competence in applying color theory principles in multimedia projects using various software.
B. SKILLS:
a. Demonstrate proficiency in using Adobe Photoshop to render color schemes effectively.
b. Independently analyse artworks to understand the application of color theories.
c. Present and articulate their color design concepts convincingly.

a. Develop an awareness of cultural variations in color symbolism and its influence on design choices.
