PROCEDURE FOR CONTROLLING BROKEN GLASS

1. PURPOSE:
To establish a procedure for controlling broken glass to avoid food contamination.
2. SCOPE:
All the equipments and premises of B. D. Aromatics Pvt. Ltd.
3. RESPONSIBILITY:
Maintenance Incharge.
4. PROCEDURE:
All the glassware and breakable material shall be under strict supervision of Maintenance
personnel and any breakages reported and recorded. Care shall be taken to ensure that no
chemical or glassware shall be left unsupervised outside the laboratory

4.1 Maintenance In-charge shall maintain a Record for use of glass in the premises at
following places.
 Window Panes.
 Use of glass equipments in Lab
 Use of glass as parts in production area

4.2 Regular Inspection:


Preventive Check and inspection shall be carried out on a monthly basis.

4.3 Action to be taken when broken glass found:


Shift
The number of incidents and actions taken reports shall be submitted to the
management and reviewed in the Management Review Meeting.

Any breakage in the lab area or outside involving any lab glassware or breakable fiber
shall be immediately collected and disposed off to prevent any contamination to the
product. The breakage shall be recorded in the Glass and Fiber Breakage Register
(QF/ME/06)
