OBJECTIVES OF INDUSTRIAL VISIT
The objective of the industry visit was to gain a comprehensive understanding of the operations and
processes of Coca-Cola and to observe the company's working environment first-hand. The visit
aimed to provide insight into the company's key products/services, the structure of its various
departments, and the techniques used to manage its operations. The objectives of the industry visit can
vary depending on the specific goals and purposes of the visit. However, some common objectives of
industry visits include:
1. Gaining a deeper understanding of the company's operations, products/services, and processes.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT REPORT

Company: Diamond Beverages Pvt Limited
INTRODUCTION
An industrial visit to “Diamond Beverages Pvt Limited” Taratala Rd, Rampur, Santoshpur, Kolkata,
West Bengal was successfully organised by the management of business studies on Friday
08/09/2023. Forty students and two faculty visited Diamond Beverages Pvt Limited to understand
how the production activity, management process, technology works and also to acquire knowledge
and gain experience.
We all Forty students gathered and divided ourselves in small groups and went to Coca-Cola
Company by cab. The reporting time in campus was 9 AM and we all reached the venue by 10 AM.
The reporting time for the venue was 10:15 AM.
After the security check the students were taken to introduction room and given a briefing of rules and
guidelines to be followed by everyone inside the industry. We were divided into two batches and at
11:15 AM we were escorted to Assembly line by the production manager and our guide and briefly
explained about the process and operations undertaken by the plants and machinery like water
treatment, mixing the ingredients like sugar, flavor,co,nitrogen, syrup etc.. He also explained how the
bottle is manufactured, what are the quality test undergone and what they do with the rejected
products. They also adhere to strict water quality standards and the raw materials which they used in
the production activity.
Finally we were taken to seminar hall by our guide and he answered each and every question asked by
the students patiently and before leaving, the company offered unlimited cold drinks to all student
students.
The industrial visit to Coca Cola Company enriched our knowledge and experience and also provided
a great opportunity to learn practically through demonstration, interaction, exchange of Information
and Employment practices which will help the students in their further career growth.

COMPANY PROFILE
Diamond Beverages Pvt Limited is a privately held company in the beverage industry. On September
21, 1995, Diamond Beverages (P) Limited (DBPL) was officially established. Chairman and
Managing Director, Mr. Nav Ratan Goenka, founded the business. Under the direction of our
Managing Director, Mr. Hemant Goenka, and Director, Mr. Abhyuday Goenka, it keeps thriving.
Since Coca-Cola returned to India in 1993, DBPL has grown to become one of the top beverage
manufacturers in the nation. Diamond Beverages Pvt Limited offers a range of beverages including
soft drinks, juices, and energy drinks. Some of the best beverage brands in the world are included in
the company's broadened beverage portfolio. Coke, Thums-Up, Sprite, Fanta, and Limca are the most
well-known soft drink brands. Additionally, we provide low-calorie beverages like Coke Zero and
Diet Coke. Brands like Maaza Mango and the full line of Minute Maid juices are included in juice
category. Company's brand Kinley is a part of the bottled drinking water market. With products like
Schweppes sodas, Fuze Tea (iced tea), Aquarius, Zico coconut water, and Monster energy beverages,
they have effectively brought new brands to the nation. In the tea and coffee category, they also offer
brands like Georgia. The company prides itself on producing high-quality beverages using only the
finest ingredients. Diamond Beverages Pvt Limited is committed to sustainability and strives to
minimize its impact on the environment through its production processes and packaging materials.
More than 1600 people are employed by DBPL, both on a permanent basis and temporarily. DBPL
takes pride in having a fully engaged workforce made up of motivated and highly skilled experts as
well as focused and industrious labourers. The business has a cutting-edge manufacturing facility with
6 production lines that produces more than 60 goods. In order to ensure optimum productivity while
constantly upholding the highest standards of quality and safety, the processes use the most recent
technologies. In order to meet the needs of our clients, we have a sizable distribution network that
comprises of three warehouses dispersed throughout our territory and 25000 customers. We serve the
top food chains in the city and are present in all FMCG trade outlets, including convenience stores,
grocers, supermarkets, and hypermarkets. Diamond Beverages Pvt Limited faces competition from
other beverage companies in the industry, including PepsiCo, Red Bull etc. Despite this competition,
the company has established a strong market presence and has a reputation for producing high-quality
products that are well-loved by consumers.

The Coca-Cola company is a multinational manufacturer and retailer of non-alcoholic beverages. An


average of 10,450 Coca-Cola Company brand drinks consumed every second. The company also
produces and sells other soft drinks and citrus beverages with more than 2,800 products available in
more than 200 countries, Coca-Cola is the largest beverage manufacturer and distributor in the world,
one of the largest corporations in the United States, and one of the most successful brands in

Description of the sessions that were organized by the company for our visit
A one–day Industrial Visit was organized by the Bengal Institute Of Business Studies on 08/09/2023
at the Diamond Beverages Private Limited plant in Taratala , Zinzira Bazar Kolkata, West Bengal.
Founded in 1993, Diamond Beverages (P) Limited (DBPL) has maintained an indomitable market
position ever since, now trusted by thousands of retailers and distributors in the city. They are
involved in all beverage bottling aspects, including manufacturing, packaging, and distribution. DBPL
has more than 1600 employees working, both on permanent and temporary payrolls.The visit was
planned for the students of MBA- First Semester, our reporting time was 10:15 am in the factory.
After an hours of Journey, we got refreshed with the sip of cold drinks offered by them.An
introductory session was conducted by Mr Indranil Dutta & Mr Indranil Chakraborty who presented
us with the company’s insight in a nutshell such as:
An insight into the historical background of Coca Cola
Products offered worldwide i.e., Thumbs Up, Maaza, Sprite, Fanta, Coke, Kinley, etc.
Quality Standards followed
Mentioned every activity happening in the plant like washing of bottles, filling, capping,
labelling and packaging.
Lastly, he splintered the myths regarding the ill effects of Coca-Cola logically.
After his insightful session, the students were taken to the Assembly Line and briefed about the
Processes and Operations undertaken by the plant. After visiting the unit, we came to the conference
hall for an Interaction Session of both technical and non-technical questions related to the production
process and company. The curiosity of the students was finally satisfied when a question-answer
session was conducted by both Indranil Dutta & Indranil Chakraborty. The students left the plant
around 01:00 pm. The industrial visit to Diamond Beverage Pvt. Ltd. was an enriching experience for
students in getting live exposure to the industry & manufacturing process which can help them in their
future career growth.
