Notice to parents/guardians
RE: END OF SCHOOL ROTATION SYSTEM
Social media and news channels have been abuzz with the possibility that ALL learners will return to
school daily. This would bring to an end the current rotational system which we implemented since
June 2020.

At a special Parliamentary Cabinet meeting held on 31 January 2022, the cabinet has approved
changes to the Adjusted Alert Level 1 COVID-19 regulations. This follows meetings of the National
Coronavirus Command Council (NCCC) and the President’s Coordinating Council (PCC) which
received updates on the management of COVID-19 in South Africa.

Cabinet has decided to make the following changes to Adjusted Alert Level 1 with immediate effect:

 Those who test positive with no symptoms do not have to isolate.

 If you test positive with symptoms, the isolation period has been reduced from 10 to 7 days.

 Contacts do not have to isolate unless they develop symptoms.

Cabinet also reviewed the resumption of schooling to full-time learning in all schools. Primary,
secondary and special schools will return to daily attendance. The regulatory provision for social
distancing of 1meter for learners in schools has also been removed.

Taking the above directives into account, Park Primary will be making the following changes.

On 7 February 2022, ALL LEARNERS WILL BE RETURNING TO SCHOOL EVERYDAY.

This is a HUGE adjustment for learners, parents and teachers and we appeal to everyone to
be calm, patient and tolerant as we ease into the new era. Parents please take note of the
following points.
1. Covid19 is not gone. Please tell learners to continue wearing their masks. Classes will
now be filled with 40 learners again and it is important for their safety as well as
others that they keep their masks on all the time. They should keep a distance during
lunch breaks while eating. Please provide lunch as the tuckshop is still closed.
2. Traffic in the morning will be hectic. Please assign 5 to 10 minutes earlier in your
schedule to drop off learners. PLEASE RESPECT THE SCHOLAR PATROL. Learners
crossing the street will be a priority not cars.
3. We will NO LONGER BE HAVING DAY 1-5. We move back to Monday -Friday. Please
FOLLOW MONDAY TO FRIDAY ON THEIR TIMETABLE. YOU MUST DISCARD THE
BLUE/RED SCHEDULE.

will participate in the Field events as either athletes or spectators. Athletes for the
field events may wear the RED or BLUE coloured t-shirts and shorts. Others must
wear their school tracksuits. Parents of those who are participating may join us from
10:00. All the above dismissal times will apply.
8. On Thursday, 10 February, we will be having our Athletic Day at the stadium. All
learners will report to school, dressed in RED or BLUE sports clothes. Educators will
march with learners to the stadium. All parents are welcome to meet us at the
stadium for a fun-filled day. Non-participants will be spectators on the grandstand.
Lunch will be provided to learners after the last race. Learners will be dismissed from
school and not at the stadium.

We pray to the Almighty to guide and protect us as we return to some sort of normality .
We also ask parents to be very considerate as it is an adjustment and learning experience
for all.
Yours in Education
