The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts of factors of
polynomials, rational algebraic expressions, linear equations and inequalities
CONTENT STANDARD: in two variables, systems of linear equations and inequalities in two variables
and linear functions.
The learner is able to formulate real-life problems involving factors of
polynomials, rational algebraic expressions, linear equations and inequalities
PERFORMANCE STANDARD: in two variables, systems of linear equations and inequalities in two variables
and linear functions, and solve these problems accurately using a variety of
strategies.
 Learn to graph linear equation in two variables using tabular, point –
slope, and intercept
I. OBJECTIVES:  Solve the slope of a line algebraically and graphically
 Appreciate that every point in Cartesian plane is unique.

A. II. Subject Matter
Sub-topic: Linear Equation in Two Variables and Their Graph

D. VALUES INTEGRATION: Suggest alternative ways to perform assigned task.

III. PROCEDURE: A. EXPLORE

How many points do you think are needed to graph a line on a

Cartesian plane?
 In geometry, it stated that at least two points determine a line.
Once the two points are determined, they can be connected to
draw the desired line. However, graphing a line cannot be done
without following certain strategies and procedures.

I have here a Cartesian plane with coordinate pairs, identify the

coordinate ordered pair from the given plot of point.
B. FIRM UP
Step 1: Assign at least two arbitrary values for the x – coordinate
Step 2: Substitute these values to the given equation to obtain their
corresponding y – coordinates
Step 3: Plot the obtained ordered pairs on a Cartesian plane
Step 4: connect the points to form a straight line. Put arrows on both
ends of the line to signify the continuity
Step 5: Label the obtained line using the given equation

Example: Sketch the graph of the linear equation y = 3x+1

C. DEEPEN
Sketch the graph of the following linear equations using at least two
arbitrary points.
1. y = -4x+5
2. 2x – 5y = 3
