YouthLed MEL Form A – Activity Proposal

1. Background and Information

Activity Name PAGDANGOG: REACHING THE UNHEARD MINDS OF OSY
Date June-July, 2023
Quarter 2nd- 3rd Quarter
Activity Rationale
In these times of uncertainty, a mental health crisis has arisen due
to the anxiety it gives to people, especially in the youth sector.
Nowadays, mental health awareness is one of the top priorities to
focus on, as now and then, there's a suicide case that most
advocates want to prevent. The Out-of-School Youth (OSY) sector
is one of the most prevalent in this kind of case. Poor mental
health in the youth could impact the different aspects of their lives.
The youth might struggle with school, grades, decision-making,
and their health having inadequate support for their mental health.
The worst result of this case is dropping out of school, leading to
mental health crisis due to a lack of interactions with people and
expressing themselves to others.

The Project “Pagdangog: Reaching the unheard minds of OSY,”

will be conducted in the province of Sorsogon. This project is being
proposed to cater to the needs of the Out-of-School Youth on how
they will cope with their mental illness and how they will recover
from everything when they feel disconnected. Further, this project
will serve as a guide to recovering or dealing with mental health
problems in the province of Sorsogon.

The fact is that youth is the most prone to mental health

issues because of their vulnerability and curiosity to explore
new things in life. Youth who are not in school, have not
completed any post-secondary coursework, and are not
employed are out-of-school youth. They range in age from 15
to 24. The youth and each community within the province will
benefit from this proposed project in terms of giving the
community awareness about mental health issues that are
already rampant, establishing credibility, proposing an
estimated timeline activity budget, setting expectations,
informing form, or employing project planning. Once the
project is approved, this document will be used to finalize
timelines and budget for the contract and complete resource
scheduling. The out-of-school youth, as the primary recipient
of this program, shall undergo or participate in activities and
counseling sessions that will help sustain and stabilize their
