Assignment on AC systems

The sensible and latent heat gains in a space served by an air conditioning unit are 65kW and
8kW, respectively, for the space which is to be maintained at 24C and 50% relative humidity
and at the sea level, the outdoor DBT is 32C and relative humidity is 40%. Assume the specific
heat of air is 1.0kJ/kg.K .
(1) Can the air conditioner supply the air at 24 to the space?
(2) Can the air conditioner supply the air at 20C and humidity ratio of 0.0093kg/kg air to the
space?
For the same system and for ventilation purposes, outdoor air is mixed with re-circulated air
in a 1:4 proportion. The mixed air passes through the cooling coil and leaves the cooling coil
at 14C. Use the psychrometric chart to determine:
(3) The air conditions entering the coil
(4) The air conditions leaving the coil
(5) The air mass flow rate required
(6) The cooling capacity of the cooling coil
(7) Vapour removal flow rate
(8) Plot the air-conditioning processes on the psychrometric chart
(9) If the air supplied temperature is 11C and 18C, repeat to solve the questions (3)-(8)
(10) By comparison of results for different supply temperatures, summarise your findings.
