Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan in Grade 7

I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:

a. Identify sentence fragment

b. Construct a complete sentence

c. Differentiate between complete sentence and sentence fragment

II. Subject Matter

Topic: Sentence fragment

Reference: Intensive English

Materials: Visual Aids

III. Procedure

A. Daily routine

1. Greetings

The teacher and the student will great to each other.

2. Prayer

The teacher will ask the student to pray before the start of the discussion.

3. Classroom management

The teacher will ask the student to pick up all the pieces of trash under their chairs.

4. Checking of attendance

The teacher will check the attendance of the student.

B. Review

Ask the student about previous lesson.

What have they learned in the previous lesson?

C. Motivation
The teacher will introduce an activity called “Arrange me”.
The teacher will group the student into two groups.
The teacher will distribute two envelopes together with the jumbled words inside
of it and they will arrange it to form a sentence.

D. Activities
The teacher will proceed to the next activity called “Identify me”
The student will identify whether the following sentences are sentence or sentence
fragment.
E. Abstraction
Proceed to the lesson which is sentence fragment.
Ask the student about their ideas in sentence fragment.
Introduce the meaning of sentence fragment.
Discuss the difference between sentence and sentence fragment.
F. Application
The teacher will give an activity called “complete me”

The student will add the following sentence fragment to form a complete sentence

IV. Assessment

The student will divide into two groups, each group will write down at least five
titles of their favorite songs and they will identify it whether it is a complete sentence or
fragment.

V. Assignment

The student will write down at least five example of sentence fragment and a
complete sentence.
