Writing My Learning/ Lesson Plans

Lesson Plan/ Learning Plan- This refers to the blueprint of the daily teaching and
learning activities. It is a step-by-step guide which helps teachers in maintaining the quality of
instruction. Lesson plans consist of essential components such as learning outcomes, learning
content, resources and procedures. An effective lesson plan has a great impact on teaching-
learning process. It is a must that teachers plan their lessons effectively to ensure a successful
instructional experience. There are three types of lesson plans: detailed, semi detailed, and
brief. Some schools design their own lesson plan template which includes their vision, mission,
goals and core values.
The Department of Education has provided templates for Detailed Lesson Plan (DLP)
and Daily Lesson Log (DLL). This was done to institutionalize instructional planning which is
vital to the teaching-learning process. Guidelines were formulated to assist teachers in planning,
organizing and managing their lessons to meet the needs of the diverse learners.
Teachers must also keep in mind that in staging the learning outcomes, the three domains
must be considered (Cognitive, Affective, and Psychomotor). Outcomes must be stated in
terms that are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time-bound (SMART). The
cognitive domain includes remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating and
creating.
When writing lesson plans, the learning outcomes, activities and assessment must be
constructively aligned. The instructional strategies used must help in the attainment of the
learning outcomes. The modes of assessment must determine if the outcomes were attained at the
end of the lesson.

Notice

1. What factors did you consider in writing your lesson/ learning plans?
 Improving the effectiveness of lesson preparation requires careful consideration of a number
of factors, such as how to effectively engage students, match activities to predetermined
objectives, and cover the cognitive, emotional, and psychomotor domains. A thorough
approach is what guarantees a well-rounded and significant learning process.
2. What difficulties did you meet in writing your lesson/ learning plans?
 Carefully choosing my motives and a variety of assignments is essential, as it is one of the
most important factors allowing me to meet the goals listed in the lesson plan.
3.What feedback was/were given by your Resource Teacher in your first
draft/succeeding lesson/ learning plans?
 My goal is to simplify my methodology by combining my MELCS and goals into a single,
cohesive framework. In order to effectively meet the objectives of my class, I place a high
priority on the cognitive, emotional, and psychomotor domains. Effective time management
is crucial, necessitating careful planning of the allotted time for the best possible delivery of
teaching.
4. What were the best features/ areas for improvement of your/ lesson plans?
 task 4, since it acts as a link between the students and the instructional information. Ensuring
a smooth and significant shift is crucial, as it amplifies the overall coherence and efficacy of
the educational process.

of some students. When it comes to their status

for the necessary gadgets for their online class ,
some of them did not have internet connections.
Recognizing the students from lower socio-
economic background may have limited access
to resources such as technology, books, or a

help us as a future teachers in adjusting
expectation and support. Maybe when it happens
we ensure that the learning materials are
accessible to all students. For example, offering
printed materials for students without reliable
internet access or ensuring that required
textbooks are available in the school library or

Religious background: We avoid promoting
any particular religious viewpoint in the
classroom. We enure that the discussion or

with assignments deadlines, exams or
attendance for students who observe religious
holidays or rituals that may require them to miss
school or have additional commitments.
2.3 with disabilities, giftedness and talents
Disability: We ensure that the classroom and
learning materials are accessible to students with

Why is lesson planning an integral part of the instructional cycle?
 Lesson planning is an integral part of the instructional cycle for several compelling reasons
Provides Structure and Direction A well-designed lesson plan serves as a roadmap for
teachers, ensuring that all necessary materials and resources are prepared and that the
content and objectives of the lesson are clearly defined. This structure helps teachers stay
organized and focused on the instructional goals. Sets Clear Instructional Goals and
Objectives Lesson planning allows teachers to set specific, measurable learning outcomes,
which guide the instruction and help students understand what they are expected to know,
understand, and be able to do by the end of the lesson. This clarity ensures that the lesson is
purposeful and that students are engaged in meaningful learning experiences. Effective
Sequencing of Instruction Teachers can plan the order and timing of different activities and
tasks, determining the appropriate pacing to ensure that students grasp new concepts and
skills effectively. This sequencing maintains a cohesive and logical flow of instruction,
enhancing student understanding and retention of the material. Accommodates Diverse
Learning Needs Lesson planning enables teachers to incorporate various instructional
strategies and methods that cater to the diverse learning needs and preferences of students.
