CHAPTER 1

Company Overview

Business Description

Tired of always having the same boring meal for lunch? This business will fix that

problem, this business will make your midday meal more interesting and fun to eat. Our

team saw the problem with midday meals, which is that sometimes people are eating

the same boring food everyday and how unhealthy some of the midday meals can be.

So our team found a solution to this problem which is by creating a well verse, healthy

and delicious meal perfect for lunch and perfect to give the customers inspiration for the

second part of the day. This business goal is to make 30 products for its first month for

our wonderful customers.

Business Location

The Business location will be in Mapua Malayan Colleges Mindanao. This is the

business location because we want to inspire, motivate and let these wonderful

students taste a new type of midday meal. This meal will be sold at the school and will

have different designs so that the food will keep being interesting for the students and

customers to buy.

This Business requires funding and operating costs to produce multiple products

at once. This is the reason why our business requires funding requirements and

sources so that it may produce these products more efficiently and faster. The list below

These investors are people who will trust this business mission and vision, to be able to

innovate from regular midday meals in today's day and age, where fast food and

unhealthy meals are very prominent. This budget will ensure this business will deliver to

its promises and achieve the necessary amount for mass production and quality

products and food.

MARKET ANALYSIS

Market Description

Given the fact that Mapua Malayan Colleges Mindanao (MMCM) is a big school

and promotes student business as seen in the local stalls that sells food and products,

with these opportunities and great location due to Mapua Malayan Colleges Mindanao

(MMCM) being a top and prestigious school located in Davao City, with all of these

factor at Bento-Resto’s disposable this could make Bento- Resto business flourish and

succeed. The product of Bento-Resto is also perfect for Mapua Malayan Colleges

Mindanao (MMCM) due to the fact that there are many students that are craving for

something new and creative that Bento-Resto could offer with the new styles of food

and appetizing dish that Bento-Resto might offer. This business plans to safely sell

20-30 products of unique food in its first week since the materials are very difficult to

obtain and the food is time consuming to create. This is the amount that this business

plans to sell in its first week so that it would test the demand of Bento-Resto’s amazing

food, but if Bento-Resto runs out of products in the first week this business could

produce more depending on its demands. This is what makes Bento-Resto special

because it wants what's healthy and the best for its customer and has a clear goal in

mind which is to serve and help the customer to eat healthy and creatively with its

amazing and creative food.

Market Analysis and target segmentation of Bento-Resto are conducted due to

this business wanting the opinion and factors to consider in setting up and starting the
business. There are a total of 25 respondents in Bento-Resto’s questionnaire in total.

Before Bento-Resto’s team gathered the date this business team made clear our goal,

vision and mission to the respondents which is to provide high quality, creative, unique,

healthy and appetizing meal for there generation to enjoy and share with their family

and friends, that is the main reason why this business conducted survey. Given from the

finding of Bento-Resto this business founded that people have been eating the same

unhealthy and fast food most of the times and the fast foods that these respondent tend

to eat the most are Jollibee, school cafeteria and Mcdonalds, with these fast foods this

business questionnaire also found out that they are mostly eating the same foods in

these establishment which is processed chicken, Burger, and other processed foods.

Bento-Resto will be a perfect and unique concept so that instead of eating the same

boring and processed food all the time. Bento-box with all types of unique, healthy,

creative and appetizing food will surely make customer consume the product and enjoy

it because this business is something creative and new.

Market Segmentation

Demographic

The findings of Bento-Resto respondents show that all of the students that were

asked the question in the questionnaire are around the age of 16-18, which are between

grade 11 to 1st year college and these are the generation z. The genders of this

business respondents are 16 females and 9 males. This is the ratio due to this business

target demographic which are young females and some young males . According to this

business research females are mostly the ones to buy new and unique products

compared to the male.


Geographic

The data survey shows that all participants are students at Mapua Malayan

Colleges Mindanao (MMCM) and live in Davao City. This means that focusing on

MMCM students for the business is a good idea since everyone surveyed is from this

school. As a result, the products are likely to be successful among customers and their

friends.

Psychographic

This survey was made to find the motivation and how this business can help and

recharge the customers and students that are willing to buy Bento-Resto’s product.

Since motivation is an important aspect in everyone’s life it is important that the food

you consume can motivate and recharge you so this survey asked the question about

how the respondents food can motivated customers and out of 25 respondents only 10

were motivated this might be due to the same boring food that they order or being given

to the customers every lunch. This is the key issue that Bento-Resto is trying to fix

which is boredom and by serving a new style of food with a bento-box it might motivate

the customers and recharge for the afternoon and the things that they plan on doing.

Since food is a key factor in which motivation and energy is based on without food or

lunch they might not be able to recharge.

Behavioral

This survey was made to find the interest of the respondent in food and their

eating habits and behavior towards the food. A few examples would be how health
conscious these participants are and how often they eat the same food for lunch since

this business topic focuses on lunch the question primarily revolves in lunch and the

common habits while eating lunch. This survey also found out that people who often eat

the same food for lunch is very common due to lunch being in a middle of the day and

being a recharge meal for everyone and this survey respondents also found out that out

of the 25 participants only 7 think about the food they are eating during lunch and all of

these participants are female. This is an important detail because it shows us what this

business should offer the male and female depending on how conscious and their

behavior towards the food that they are about to consume.

Strengths

● The strength of Bento-Resto is that it tries to provide upcoming customers with

unique healthy food for their body that might motivate the customers in the

second part of the day. This is evident in how it is served by giving customers

variety and creative designs with their food that they bought from Bento-Resto.

● Second strength of Bento-Resto is it has a proper vision and mission which is to

keep customers not just happy by eating Bento-Resto food but also to feel

motivated by our team's creativity to the food, while keeping the customers

healthy and energized due to the nutritious food in our meals.

Weakness

● The weakness of Bento-Resto is the wide variety of food that it has. This might

not sound like a weakness but when you factor the time making the food,
producing the food and the cost of the materials to make the food it is one of the

weaknesses that this business will face.

● Second Weakness of Bento-Resto is the amount of customers willing to try

something new since Bento-Resto is a new concept and experimental. The idea

might be disliked by the customers and people who are used to eating their usual

food for lunch.

Opportunity

● Opportunity that Bento-Resto will provide to the community will be the promotion

of healthy and creative food that will be unique as their midday meal. This

opportunity is evident on how boring and unhealthy and uninspiring the food

being served for lunch are.

● Second Opportunity is how Mapua Malayan Colleges Mindanao (MMCM)

promotes new business and starting business in the plaza and their stalls. The

amount of product and new concept being sold in the plaza makes way for this

business new concept.

● The threat to Bento-Resto will be the fast foods and the fast yet unhealthy food

that these fast food chains serve. This threat might be indirect due to how well

known and the loyal customers are to these fast foods but it should still be

considered so that this business can find a way to separate this business from

those fast foods.

● The Second Threat of Bento-Resto is how willing people are to buy this product.

Since this idea and concept is new to the customer it might be a threat on the
demand and how many people are willing to spend in Bento-Resto, but when this

threat will be eliminated by providing trust on this business customers it will be a

success and the idea would be revolutionary.
