All rules MUST be read and understood by each & every player BEFORE
game time.
A. TEAM
A team shall consist of five (5) players.
All players shall play for one event only.
Teams are allowed to have a maximum of 12 players on their
roster. Five players on the court and seven players on the bench.
All teams must wear basketball jerseys during their games. Each
jersey must have the same color and they must have numbers.
Basketball shoes must be worn. All jewelry must be removed.
Necklaces, earrings and watches cannot be worn during the game.
B. GAME
The game starts with a jump ball in the center of the court with two
opponents facing the direction of their opponent’s basket.
After an opponent score, the opposition must pass the basketball in
from behind the baseline.
Players can only move the basketball around the court by dribbling
or passing.
The winner of the game is the team who scores the most points in
their opponent’s basket at the end of game time.
C. Clock Timing
Four Quarters – A game consisting of four quarters will usually be
8 – 12 minutes in duration each quarter.
The clock will stop for the duration of all timeouts.
Time out = 3-time outs per game. The clock will be stopped for
time outs, which will be one minute in duration. Half time will be
five minutes long.
Time will run continuously throughout, except for the last two
minutes of the second half. During the final two minutes of the
second half, the clock will be stopped for all fouls and ball out
situations.

Each game will start with a jump ball at center court. Each
possession there after will be alternated. The official scorekeeper
will keep track of the possession arrow.
D. Overtime
At the end of regulation, if the scores are tied, there will be an
overtime period of 3 – 5 minutes.
After this time, if the score is still tied, the teams will compete for
another overtime period. This continues until at the conclusion of an
overtime a winner has been decided.
Each team is allowed one timeout during overtime.
The fouls from the 2nd half of the game carry over to the overtime
periods.
E. Scoring Rules
Each free-throw is worth one point.
Each field goal (midrange shot, layup, post move, etc) is worth two
points.
Each shot made from behind the three-point line is worth three
points.
(Note: If any part of the player’s foot is on the three-point line when
shooting, the shot will be worth 2 points.)
F. Substitutions
A substitution is when you swap a player from the bench with a
player on the basketball court. This is used to allow players to rest
and recover throughout the game as well as give all players on the
team a chance to participate.
A coach is allowed to make an unlimited number of substitutions
throughout the game.
A coach is allowed to substitute their players on and off the court on
any dead-ball situation (after fouls, violations, timeouts, free-
throws, etc).
A substitution is called by asking the scoring table for a ‘sub’ and
then waiting for a stoppage in play where the referee will give you
time to substitute players.
Do not substitute players without waiting for the referee
to signal for you to do so or it will result in a technical foul on your
team.

G. Common Foul
1. A player who commits five total fouls (including personal, unsporting
and contact technical fouls) will be disqualified.
2. Technical Foul - a foul by any player (active or not), coach or other team
attendant that does not involve contact with an opponent while the ball is
dead.
- PENALTY: PLAYER TECHNICAL: Two points awarded plus
possession of the ball. Throw-in at half-court/division line
- BENCH TECHNICAL: Two points awarded plus possession of the
ball. Throw-in at half-court/division line.
3. Flagrant Foul - A personal foul that involves violent contact with an
opponent.
- PENALTY: Two points awarded plus possession of the ball; player
committing the foul shall be ejected and will receive at least a one
game suspension. The throw-in will occur at the designated spot
nearest the foul.
4. Intentional Foul - A personal foul, which, in the judgment of the official,
appears to be designed or premeditated and/or is not a legitimate
attempt to directly play the ball or player. It is not based on the severity
of the act. Holding or pushing in order to stop play or pushing a player in
the back to prevent a score when there is no possibility of getting into
position to guard are examples of intentional fouls.
- PENALTY: Two Free Throws awarded, plus possession of the ball for
a throw-in at the designated spot nearest the foul.
5. If a team (including bench personnel and spectators) receives 3
unsporting Technical Fouls (including flagrant fouls) in one game, the
game shall be ended and the opponent awarded the win by score or
forfeit if the offending team is ahead by score. Examples of unsporting
conduct include:
- Disrespectfully addressing officials and staff.
- Using profanity, vulgarity or obscene gestures; taunting, baiting or
ridiculing another player or bench personnel.
- Delaying the game by preventing the ball from being promptly made
live.

H. SPORTSMANSHIP
- In order to promote a fun and safe playing environment, participants
and spectators are expected to be civil towards one another and
staff.
