SOCIETY: commonly defined as " people in general
thought of living together in an organized communities
with shared laws, traditions and values
: an enduring and cooperating social group
whose members have developed organized patterns of
relationships through interaction with one another.”

Social: closely related to human society as it


refers to the interaction of individuals and groups as well
as the welfare of humans as members of the society.

Science: pertains to “knowledge about or study of
the natural world based on facts learned through
experiments and observation".
: it also refers to the various methods or
modes of inquiry utilized in order to obtain the
knowledge.

commonly defined as " people in general thought of living together in an organized
communities with shard laws, traditions and values, an enduring and cooperating
social group whose members have developed organized patterns of relationships
through interaction with one another".

SCIENCE
pertains to " knowledge about or study of the natural world based on facts learned
through experiments and observation". It also refers to the various methods or modes
of inquiry utilized in order to obtain the knowledge about the world we live in. (
empirical, propositional, logical, public, problem solving, continous)

Scientific Method which consists of TOPIC, PROBLEM, HYPOTHESIS, METHOD OF


INQUIRY OR DATA GATHERING, ANALYSIS and CONCLUSION.

3 Classifications of Human Knowledge
a. Natural Science: aims to explain and predict various phenomena
in nature (example of major discipline: cellular composition, atomic
particles, weather conditions, and earthquake patterns.)
:biology, chemistry, earth science and physics are
some major disciplines.
b. Social Science: attempts to explain and describe human
behaviour and attitudes of people in the society(example of major
discipline: anthropology, sociology, psychology, economics, and political
sciences.)

c. Humanities: tends to humanize/cultivate humans as they


express themselves in various forms. (example of major discipline: history,
literature, and music)

branches. (example of major discipline: business,
