organization overseeing the
development of disaster
reduction policy,
1.PHILIPPINES is the 4th most
disaster prone country in the
world with a total of 274 274 Disasters – 1995-2015
disasters as recorded from
1995 to 2015 with 130 Billion
absolute number of affected
people. 90% of major disaster
were caused by weather-
related events and the human
impact of it were most felt in
Asia. Including the Philippines.
Within the famous volcanic region
- Belt of fire
- Horse-shoe shaped
- Encompasses 452 volcanoes, 22 are active
- Experience tsunamis and earthquake
