Objectives:

knowledge on the aspects of culture.

the sentences refer.

human beings associated together in
relationship of power and authority where
conflict occurs.

• It is a special point of view where general
patterns of society are seen in the lives of
particular people.

• It is the systematic study of human society.

• A quality of mind that enables the possessor
to link personal with the social. It brings
people together to create needed change.

• It is the acquired cognitive and symbolic
aspects of human existence.

• Refers to the social organization of human
life, patterns of interaction and power
relationships.

• Its etymology means “knowledge about
humans”. It is the comparative study of
cultural and social life.
• Anthropology
• A perspective of anthropology that views
societies or cultures as qualitatively different
and have their own unique inner logic.
• Cultural Relativism
• A perspective of anthropology that evaluates
other people from one’s own vantage point,
describing them in one’s own term.
• Ethnocentrism
• Culture is "that complex whole
which encompasses beliefs,
practices, values, attitudes, laws,
norms, artifacts, symbols,
knowledge, and everything that
a person learns and shares as a
member of society."(Tylor, 1871)

Group Activity
• Groups will present a short skit
depicting a local culture.
• How did the community acquire the
local culture?
• What is the importance of the said
culture to the community?
• What aspect of culture is reflected
in the skit? Explain your answer.
• How do agents of socialization
contributed in the acquisition of
culture?

• What is its role in the society?
• What are the benefits in being
aware of the aspects of culture?
AGREEMENT
• Designated groups will prepare
a 4 minute skit to show the
following aspects of culture.
• Group 1- Culture is learned.
• Group 2- Culture is symbolic.
• Group 3- Culture is integrated.
